    Border installed a Lennox minisplit system last fall. It had obvious operating problems from the very onset, and as of last spring - system stopped being able to heat at all. Instead of fixing the 2 actual problems, Border instead fabricated and grossly falsified a reason - that being because a small 9k head unit had been moved from the utility room to a guest bedroom. However, it was their own install team who stated unequivocally - it "absolutely would not cause any operating issues or system problems, and in fact they thought it was a great idea." In addition, 3 other Lennox dealers all verified that would absolutely not cause any of the problems being experienced. And in fact the other Lennox dealers had literally scoffed at the idea because it was so unbelievably absurd. This also made it clear any minisplit dealer, or property inspector well versed in minisplit systems, would come to the same conclusion. // The actual two problems that have caused the system to never operate properly, and can no longer heat as of last spring, are: 1) Persistent low-pressure since system was installed, which results in continual reduced heat output, followed by low-pressure errors, followed by system shutdown. Low pressure will also cause the outside heat pump to ice prematurely - and severely, which was also experienced, even when outside temps were in the low 40s. 2) It became known there was a serious incompatibility between the 24k head unit (aka living room) and 4-ton heat pump that were installed, that literally renders rest of the system unusable. The only known fix is to replace that 4-ton heat pump with two smaller heat pumps, as confirmed by not only other Lennox dealers, but ***************** itself. // Not only have I been in contact with Border since, I've also exhausted all other reasonable options. More recently I've asked that Border refund the system in full, which they have of course have chosen to ignore - or in other words, Border has literally stolen $25k.

    I had a technician come to my home to look at a stand alone gas heater the would once in a wile shut off. He was nice and seemed to know what he was doing, he cleaned the igniter and said if it keep doing it to call back. Shortly after i called and they sent another technician out. The 2nd technician turned it off and on again and proceeded to get on the phone and talk with another customer i believe. After 10 minutes on the phone (unit still working like i told him it would,it shuts off once in a wile) he told me its either the control module or mother board and when he got back to the shop he would look into a new module and contact me. When he left he told us there would be no charge. We never heard back from him. But we got another bill, when we called we got told if we didnt pay the bill she would turn it in to collections and it would hurt our credit. She was rude and talked over both me and my wife. We were told by the technician there was no bill and she more-or-less called me a lier that we were never told that.

    The customer was not happy or nice to me when explaining the documentation doesn't agree with him and that there was a charge for our service call to his house.  We tried very hard to explain to ******************** ( his wife was not on the phone call) that the documentation from the service tech stated his call was chargeable. The tech confirmed he never stated there would be no charge but left them saying he would check with the previous tech with what was done previously ( clean the dirty flame sensor and ignitor) and if the call is chargeable we would send an invoice.  This is noted on his service ticket.  It took over a week for the supplier to get back with the tech regarding pricing and availability of the parts that might cause him an issue. We could not get the unit to fail while we were there.  The customer called our office before the tech was able to reach out and our staff got the information from the tech that with the unit being 30+ yrs old there are no available parts for this unit anymore.  ******************** had been given a proposal the previous day for a replacement unit.  This was frustrating for ******************** that he would not be able to repair the unit and had to pay for the service call.  He said he would not be paying for this service call and I kindly informed him of our policy that any unpaid accounts get turned over to collections after ****** days outstanding.  This made him even madder at me and I explained that there was nothing more I could do for him and would need to end our phone call.   It would be great to do work for free but anytime someone calls us to look at their system there is a charge.  The only time there is a no charge is when we did something wrong and we are happy to not charge for any mistake.
