I waited over 5 hours for roadside assistance. A recorded message kept calling saying I was in a high call volume area. False. That's their way of saying they really are not have 24/7 roadside assistance tow truck companies on contract. It was 11:22 pm at night when I called them. It's now 3:58 am and they're still not here.Review from Sheila P

I had one parking lot fender ****** that cost AAA $1,500. They immediately raised the rate for the policy I share with my husband by $75/month. In 20 plus years, neither one of us has had an accident while we had insurance with them. We pay our bills every month. We are both senior citizens, and my husband is partially disabled by glaucoma as a a result of being hit by a reckless driver in his 20s. This unreasonable rate increase is unfair and a considerable hardship for us. I would not recommend AAA to anyone.Review from Rada M

I am a homeowner in Michigan since ****. I have used AAA for my homeowners insurance since ****. I filed a roof claim due to hail in July 2023. The experience has been horrible, no good, very bad, and extremely rude customer care from AAA. My gender is female. The ***** number took my information without a problem. The adjuster did not call or contact me. I called ***** number and got his name. I called and left a voicemail with him and requested a call back. He calls me back and states "I did not have your correct number or email." Oh really, AAA manages to send me bills correctly based on my account information and my account information has my correct email and contact phone number. Exhausting movement from adjuster to his boss to another adjuster was time consuming and extremely poor customer care. Why am I having to call your boss to do your job? Why am I not having the boss call me and explain the adjuster has been replaced? Why am I having to spend 30 minutes x? waiting on a representative on ***** number to update me on my claim? I am the customer and I do not appreciate being treated like the stuff you step-on after a dog has done their business. Need-less-to-say; I will be moving my business to another carrier.Review from SUSAN B

I am a senior who lives alone and depends greatly on my car. It would not run suddenly so I called AAA road service for a 17 mile tow to the dealership. First reservation on monday was for tow at 2:30 to 4PM. Received a notification that I would have a 550 minute wait. So I rescheduled for tuesday at 8:30 to 10 AM. No contact from AAA and no tow truck. Rescheduled for Wednesday morning...no tow no contact. Rescheduled for Wednesday afternoon...no tow, no contact. I FINALLY got in touch with a real person who appalled that this had happened. She found out from dispatch that none of the tow companies would accept the job. Why didn't AAA tell me that?! Why do I pay for the PLUS plan for the extra miles in towing if a simple 17 mile tow would not be honored?! Needless to say that just a non-emergency tow is not a priority even though the necessity of the tow is just as urgent. I have absolutely NO GOOD recommendation for AAA ********** and I am finished with them after 18 years.AAA Michigan Response

I am so upset at this company as I have been a member for almost 10 years and so now they decided NOT to renew my AAA Membership cause of something about overuse. I am so lost on how is overuse even thought of for a service I pay for!!!! So now my family that has cards that I pay for yearly can't get a Membership at all cause we were all on the same Membership. But again this is the service I paid for YEARLY for my family. So at this point we can't get a tow or anything because THEYYYYYYYYYY themselves decided on my monies that I can't renew ever again!!!!!Count your days AAA I will never deal with you again!!!!!!I am LIVID I swear I am!!!!!NKG!!!Review from Ted S

We are very sorry about the long wait time and we are looking into what happened. If you paid out of pocket for your own towing service, please print off a reimbursement form at aaa.com and submit that to our office with the receipt.Review from Marvel D

I called AAA because I was having battery problems with my AAA battery that is still under warranty. I waited over 24 hours for a jump and to have the battery tested. Once the guy arrived and jumped the car, he said there was nothing wrong with the battery. He suggested it could be the alternator or something else. I was almost in tears asking him to replace the battery and he said he would but I would have to pay for it. I drove my car to an auto shop that did a diagnostic test plus a road test. They had the car for three days and said there was nothing wrong with the car. I came home and the battery was completely dead the next day. Its Friday now and I called the shop and of course they said I could bring it back but they are not open on the weekend. Monday I called AAA for another jump. Again I had to wait more than 24 hours for someone to come out. This guy pulled up the report from a week ago and he said the battery tested bad a week ago. So, the 1st guy LIED!!!! Plain and simple!!!!One week later, and after the expense of getting my car checked out, I received my warranty replacement battery. I am absolutely *****!!!!I have a number of AAA complaints over the years, but this past week is unforgivable!!!!!!Review from James A

Im on day 3 waiting for AAA **************** for a dead battery. AAA keeps saying theyre busy, but keep my phone handy for a call. Their online system keeps pushing their arrival time back further and further. At this rate it looks like Ill have to wait until spring and walk to the grocery store.AAA Michigan Response

Made a request >25 hrs. ago. Request for a vehicle jump at 3:00 PM yesterday, received a confirmation four hours later. Still have not received anything since. Have been a longstanding member for the roadside service but will not be renewing. Do yourself a favor and explore all options.Review from Ryan B

I recently needed a tow truck (1/15) and was told that it would be an extended period due to the cold weather/snow. No problem - truck showed up about 4 hours later but could not jump or provide tow (wrong type of truck for my vehicle). I was assured another tow truck would be sent out. 1/15 5 PM I call again and am told that it was never dispatched but they would set up another ******/16 received a call at 7 AM from a tow truck operator that once again did not have a truck that could tow my car but assured that it would be sent back to dispatch. Called late afternoon 1/16 and was told they are trying to get someone to me. 1/17 called twice and assured they are trying to reach me. I am forced to rent a car out of my own pocket because AAA can not provide service including taking an Uber in order to pick up the rental car from Avis.1/18 call at 4 PM and once again assured that they are trying to reach me but I can arrange for service myself and attempt to get a reimbursement. Keep in mind at this point its 23 degrees outside and not snowing so the excuse of extreme cold weather is ridiculous given the location in Michigan. 1/19 call for a tow truck myself at 9 AM - arrival 9:20 AM - to my destination by 9:30 AM. Pay the driver in cash with tip to thank them for actually coming out to help me. 1/19 call AAA at 10:30 AM to cancel requested tow and to cancel my membership - I am transferred to the ************** office where they inform me that they can't see my call log for help all week and that I am not allowed to cancel my roadside assistance membership because I have AAA auto insurance. Will be seeking new roadside assistance company and auto insurance after having AAA since ****. There is no point to having roadside assistance/insurance when they refuse to help you when there is an actual problem. **********
