BBB requested that Elixir Mind Body Massage review their advertising and provide substantiation based on reliable, recent, competent testing for each of the health claims made and to discontinue any advertising that is in violation of FDA and FTC mandates for this industry.
Despite written requests, as of August 12, 2022, Elixir Mind Body Massage has not responded to BBB’s request for revisions and clarification in its advertising.
Advertisements should be truthful, sincere offers to sell. Advertisers have a responsibility to have substantiation for all claims made and should be able to provide that substantiation upon request. All advertising that may mislead or deceive consumers should be avoided.
Claims relating to performance and results should be backed up by reliable evidence.
Native Advertisements are created to resemble the design, style, and functionality of the media in which they are disseminated, which could make it difficult to distinguish between advertising and non-commercial content.
