I should have listened to my gut before purchasing an engagement ring with David Ellis on Oct, 2022. I read the reviews and felt they were more directed to his purchasing arrogance than his selling. But I have been proven dead wrong. After asking for a Sapphire style ring, he showed me something that was not even close to what I was looking for, but with his and his colleagues persuasiveness, I felt pressured into agreeing. A few weeks later after it not sitting well with me I requested he go back and find what I was always asking for and wanted. He agreed and did end up finding me the ring I wanted. The caveat...we had to pay $2000 more for it. Well I guess it was because it was "nicer". Oh and GIA ********** However, 6 months after the purchase of the newer ring, my partner and I decided to separate. April 2023. As a result I did go back and ask David if he would take the ring back. He said he wouldn't as there are no "return" policys'. Heartbroken I understood they had to follow their rules but I was hoping there was something he could negotiate. But I had the ring and decided to get it appraised....only to find out the ring was worth $2000 total. I had it appraised by multiple, credible, certified jeweler's who told me I got swindled. I even have one certified by the **** We paid $15k for a ring that is worth a total of $2k. What a joke. I understand mark up but this is fraudulent to say the least.
