This bank AWFUL!!! The credit limit sucks, the customer service sucks, the online payment service sucks. Trued using a debit Visa card it said, no pin debit can be used but there’s no where you can enter a pin. Tried using a credit card and it said credit cards are not accepted… YIKES!! They are closed on the weekends and do not open until 9AM M-F. I had a balance of $3.50 which I tried relentlessly to pay online for 3 days due to applied bank not taking payments via phone. I finally got a hold of someone Tuesday that told me my balance was now $9 due to finance fees and I had to pay an extra $12 fee for paying over the phone. This is a scam of a company. No one should ever bank or get a Credit card with them.Review from Bentley S

Always a problem to go online with this company that claims the highest in credit card security. there website is no good it keeps wanting to verify identity with the correct information. I don't think this Bank really wanted to give out credit cards to consumers especially if and when you don't have your card on you or in travels you can't make a payment with them. I'm canceling been with them almost 2 years? no evaluation of wanting to increase my credit line. I do not recommend applied bank and from the looks of it im surprised they still exist with all the frustration they have Givin consumers over the years.Review from James W

Year's later and I'm still haunted by the Applied Bank account I requested be closed. Unfortunately it was never closed and while I had paid the account in full, the monthly fee was charged as a late fee and thus a $70 outstanding balance. I won't even know how to resolve the issue and clear this on one of my credit reports. The other report removed it based on my dispute, but Transunion did not, Reading the reviews, it appears im Not the only customer who requester to have the account closed and it wasn't closed. For years this has been the negative report on record. If I can figure out how to pay it I will admit wrongdoing, but I'm just tired of it wearing it's ugly head. Don't get me wrong when I was establish g credit Applied was there for me and I did what I was supposed to. When I no longer needed it, it was my choice to choose to discontinued the service. Apparently they see things differently and have the final say.Review from Ashley E

The employees consistently lie to you, they tell you one thing but do another. I called to have my account closed two months ago, found out that they never finalized the closure and I’ve been being charged maintenance fees for the account. Called again to have it closed and was told it’s officially closed. Jokes on me, more maintenance fees with interest added on. Why’re you charging someone maintenance fees for an account that’s supposed to be closed. I faxed information to them trying to get the wrongful charges taken care of and get the money that it turns out should’ve never been given to them, but I’m told they’ve never received anything. Given a fax number to rewrite my handwritten letter and it’s the exact same fax number. I’m starting to think they genuinely just don’t care about you and that they just want to continuously leech money from you by any means possible. The whole reason this whole issue started is they let someone in another country try to make charges with my card and not once did they ever contact me and try to see if it was really me making the charges. Im extremely disappointed with this company and I would never bank with them again nor recommend them to anyone. The way they do business is extremely sketchy and I almost always felt uneasy with their telephone customer service representatives. You have to constantly check your statements and every charge otherwise they’ll try to pull a fast one on you.Review from Michelle W

Applied Bank offers a good credit card for those of us with less than stellar credit. Just setup autopay and make sure you make you minimum monthly payments until you see autopay deduct from your checking account for the first time. This company really does try and I really appreciated them being there for me and my family in my time of need. I will suggest that Applied Bank updates their website as it's a bit tricky to navigate and yes I've run into issues making payments as well due to the system that they have in place... That being said, they are try to provide the best service possible to all of their members and I truly believe this. If you run into issues making a payment online, just call them up and make a payment over the phone.Review from Quinton G.

Paid my balance to less than half of my credit limit twice in a month and both times they took my money and credited the payments but within the week of both payments the balance they say I owed were well over the original balance. I know businesses outsource but should not ever be transferred to a call facility in a different country ever where there could be a communication issue.Review from Teresa F.

Very disappointed with this company's credit card. I make my payments on time then all of a sudden they quit allowing me to use my bank debit card to make my payments so I switched to my checking acct /checks. It worked once then they said it was not a valid acct. Then I used my debit card and made a credit charge to make a payment. Both the banking acct and credit card payment methods charge outrageous fees. This company is taking advantage of their customers and destroying these people's credit who are trying to better themselves. The only reason I never had a credit card was for this reason.Review from Erin T.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS CREDIT CARD. So incredibly frustrating. I paid faithfully via automatic every single month for 3 years and continued to pay the monthly maintenance fees, the minimum finance charges, and the payment processing fee (to pay automatically) for a card I did not charge a balance on. I eventually took the time to close it to avoid paying fees for absolutely nothing, and the fee that I paid to pay my fees was charged after my payment was made, and left the account open. Because the account was left open it continued to charge the maintenance fees and finance charges, etc. I got this card originally to try to build credit and this was essentially all I could get. But what a disappointing situation that people are forced into products like this where we are penalized for everything, even doing the right thing, and its impossible not to get stuck in the cycle. I just spent 40 minutes on the phone to find a way to PAY to close the account that was already closed. I am so so angry and feel helpless, and I know that if I feel this way, that others must too. Avoid this company at all costs. It's disgusting.Review from Robert W

After 15 years of having this card, I decided to cancel it after having a late fee charged to account. This late fee was applied after a technical issue arose from trying to process a EFT payment on their website. This was the same method of payment I had used for years and suddenly there system was 'stuck' on a step of verifying payment. I had never had this happen before, but there were 10 days left before payment was due. 3 days prior, I had tried again and it refused to take payment saying payment method was still be verified. Then the late fee occurred. I called customer support, spoke with a manager, who confirmed that this was an issue others were experiences. When I demanded the late fee be removed she informed me that the department who authorizes corrects of erroneous fees cannot be contacted by phone or email; only fax or by USPS letter. This is an intentional blockade of access to encourage me to give up on having their issue corrected. 15 years and no more - very unethical company policy. Good work Applied Bank, drove off a 15 year client over $35 - kudos to your corporate elite. They clearly are earning their worth...
