I paid $750 for glass block windows. Now my window situation is worse. Block-Tite did not meet their salesperson’s, Mike M********, promise. They tried to fix it one time and failed, got broken glass everywhere, and are now unwilling to do anything else. A few times a year during heavy rain my covered window wells fill with ground water. Water would come into my basement through hopper windows that were installed about 4 years ago. A plumber, a waterproofing company, and a window company recommended installing glass block windows to prevent water from entering. Mr. M****** stated during 2 onsite visits that their glass block windows would fix my issue by holding back water for at least 24 hours giving time for the window wells to drain. Mr. M****** said that after 24 hours water might seep through but would never flow in around the windows. He also said to not get vents as that would let water in. It was clear that Mr. M****** understood and knew what he was promising. 2 weeks after installation water flowed in under the window unimpeded. Block-Tite tried to waterproof with sealer and when that didn't work Mr. M****** inspected the windows and stated that they were installed incorrectly. Block-Tite reinstalled the windows but when doing so they broke out the 1st set of glass block windows with hammers and didn’t protect anything in the basement including kid’s toys. Glass went on everything. They made a half-hearted attempt to clean the broken glass but I still found many glass pieces around the basement including on toys and on the floor. Block-Tite installed the 2nd set of glass block windows the same way as the 1st. 3 weeks later water still came in all 3 windows through the bottom corners within a few seconds. The issue is worse now than before because water now comes in at a lower level compared to the original hopper windows. The glass block windows sit on the foundation with no frame and the hopper window frames kept water out higher up.
