      Does not honor warranty. After 1 year the track for the door that the roller sits on became warped. I contacted Clopay and was told it was not covered after a year. The manual states that there is a 3 year coverage on Hardware. It would seem if a problem arises the customer can forget about getting help from Clopay and to take care of the problem themselves.

      Clopay ripped me off for $466. I purchased two garage doors from **** ***** that included all materials and all labor. I measured the doors and ** provided a quote. CP conducted a site inspection and confirmed the measurements were accurate and indicate the order would be submitted. Without the promised notice during the site inspections, CP's inspector, claiming 30+ years' experience, said everything was covered. Several days later I received an email from CP that the order was on hold, and I needed to call **. I was told that someone at CP decided I had to have a piece of wood mounted on the wall behind the spring. From a picture CP sent, ** said it looked like just a "scrap of wood". CP's installation manual indicated it was part of a normal installation, but contrary to ** contract it was not part of the included materials or labor. CP & ** refused to compromise and ending up pocketing +23% more for their pockets.

      Clopay along with the **** ***** had a conference call with the consumer to explain that they will be installed retrofit doors, as his existing old garage doors has extension springs and the new order for Clopay doors has torsion springs. A spring pad is required for mounting torsion springs to the header. After the site check is completed, Clopay notifies **** ***** of any additional changes/charges to be able to complete the install of the garage doors that the consumer had ordered. As a customer goodwill Clopay offered the consumer a $100 reduction on the pricing for the spring pads for this order. The consumer seemed happy with this and will be proceeding with their order.

      In addition to Clopay/**** ***** misrepresenting my purchase of two garage doors, torsion spring systems and labor expenses, Clopay is misrepresenting the conference call with me. I made great effort to make it clear that I was not happy and at the end of the conversation and closed by passing on my disappointment with Clopay's manipulation. During the conference call I referred to Clopay's torsion spring system installation manual's description how the springs were affixed, how the person conducting the "site inspection" claimed to have 30+ year experience, how the purchase document (3 pages) from **) indicated I would be advised of necessary changes and possible additional charges during the site inspection (which never occurred), and the fact that the site inspector was within 18" of the area in question but left my home saying everything was great. Clopay referred to a 6-page sales document that I was never made aware of. WATCH OUT FOR CLOPAY'S BAIT AND SWITCH TACTICS!

      Does not honor terms of its warranty. Very shady company. Garage door broke after install and took 8 months to come out and look at it.Then denied any wrong doing and tried to make us pay them to fix it.

      Per inspection by our installer, the damaged top section of the garage door has undermined root cause of damage. Installer has confirmed that garage door is installed correctly and installer operated the door manually without any issues except that it has the damaged top section that should be replaced. During the installation of the garage door in November 2023, our installer did not reattach the existing garage door opener as there are no safety sensors. Installer indicated that when he went to site for the service inspection, it was determined that the customer reconnected and is operating opener with no safety sensors which may have contributed to the damage.

      I ordered a garage door opener on the **** ***** website using clopay on June 2, 2024. After about one month of waiting with no updates, I started calling regularly. I called throughout the month of July. When I called in early August, they told me that it had been shipped to the installer on July 17 (6 weeks after I ordered it). Apparently the installer then installed it in the wrong house. Somehow this error was never picked up. The only reason they figured it out (2 weeks after the fact), is that I called both parties and connected the dots. They then had to order a replacement opener, which is now taking weeks longer despite being a very standard model. It is August 22 and I still have not been able to schedule an install date.

      Completely Junk company. The CEO should be fired. The customer service ****** We ordered 2 doors. We got the doors in 8 weeks. One of the panels had scratches and we had a cracked glass. *** the installation company, was dodging calls to come fix it. I had to call Clopay countless times to get an answer. We got the broken glass fixed after 2 months. They still will not address scratch on panels. The install company committed fraud by charging my card for complete payment without proper signatures. I would stay clear of this company to buy any products.

      THE WORST! DO NOT BUY GARAGE DOORS! I have been having issues since day one. purchased 2 CLOPAY garage doors from **** ***** in November 2021 in less than a year the garage door malfunctioned. Clopay came out and made an adjustment but not completely fixed. Fast Forward to January 2024 same Issue. Called CLOPAY # ON THE GARAGE DOOR aGAIN. was told they cannot come out and fix there garage door. I am on my own As this purchase is not under warranty. I do not care about warranty, I care about them being knowing and being able to fix there own product, Instead of telling me I need to find another Overhead garage door place to come out and look. ***. DOES NOT MAKE SENSE.

      The worst customer service ever. We ordered custom doors through them waited eight weeks for them to be delivered for them to send out the wrong tracks contacted them to have new track sent out waited eight more weeks to get new tracks to have them not work either along with the new track they didnt send out any hardware and now are fighting to get correct tracks for our garage door. Steer clear do not order from ideal door.

      I ordered a door from the ********* with installation. Clopay guy came out and measured and left. Then a week later ********* called me and said I had to pay over $500 for a door frame. Why did the service guy told me that there would be an additional charges for the door jams. Why am I paying for installation. For Clopay guy to open the box for me. Then when I tried to cancelled the order I was told by Clopay that I would be charge $99 for their guy coming out. That is robbery and the goverment to investigate this company for deceiving customers with hidden charges that was not mentioned in the original agreement. So now I am without a door and $99 less from my original payment. Plus if they send a service guy to tell me how much more or less framing I need that would be an additional $99 dollars. Thiefs. Do not buy Clopay doors. Look at all these unhappy customers reviews.

      I will never buy a Cloplay product again. Purchased a 16x7 insulated garage door in 2015 from **** *****. Called today to get information about the spring (which I have in hand with a label stating size and part number) and was told they could not give me ANY information without the door serial number. The serial number is printed on a paper label affixed to the bottom of the door and has long since detached itself. This most likely happened during the Great Flood in 2016 that inundated 75% of the parish. I have an electronic receipt from Home Depot and a model number, but all of that information is not sufficient. I will not buy one of their products again. Horrible customer service policies.

      I wish I had read this before placing an order through **** *****. I was told it would be 6 weeks. I have called Clopay 2x and they told me the installer has it and will call me to install. I have called the installer 3x and no answer. They are flat out dodging my calls. I already paid. At this point I think my only course of action is legal.
