On January 12, 2022 Five Star Painting of Yorkville, ******** started work on my kitchen painting project. I was quoted a price of $4,140.00. That amount was paid upon "completion" of the project, even though, after several conversations with the owner, **** Felten, the work was still not completed to any kind of professional standard.The business promised to paint all kitchen cabinets. It was agreed that the wood grain would still be visible, but not any color variations. As shown in the attached pictures, there are still "color variations" on every cabinet, every drawer, and every cabinet frame. These are not just "color variations" but bubbles or areas where the paint did not adhere to the surface. Possibly due to inferior surface prep, inferior products, or unknowledgeable painters.The business promised both verbally and in an email that the work would be completed in 3 days. The work started on January 12, 2022 and was still not completed on January 17. I spoke to the company at that time and stated that there were still several issues with the painting, and that I should get a reduced price for the job taking longer than promised. On January 21, a crew came back and did touch-**** I was still not satisfied at this time, but paid the contract in full to avoid having a lien placed on my property. I believed this to be a possibility because of the threatening nature of the owner's response to my email in which he mentioned that I had not paid yet, even though I had told him that I wasn't comfortable paying until I was satisfied with the work. The same as with any other contractor.There are other minor issues but the quality of work is the main issue. The other issues include minor damage to my property and paint being splattered everywhere, including a brand new and very expensive sink and faucet.I have an estimate of $3300 to repair the bad paint job. That is the amount I would need refunded to me to consider the dispute resolved.
