      I called to cancel my subscription on July 3 via phone (ridiculous that it is not online) and was assured that it was cancelled. Today (9/11) I received an invoice for $172. When I called to complain, I was told that they do have a record of me cancelling on 7/3 but that the cancellation was effective 9/7 and I had to pay for the time in between (a charge of about $41)! What a scam! I told the operator that they needed to reverse that charge because I had already cancelled. She said she would escalate it to the billing department and tell them I did not want to pay my bill, which is a disgusting misrepresentation of the actual issue. This will make me think twice before ever subscribing to the Chicago Tribune ever again.

You can disregard any invoices received as it is no longer valid as no balance is due at this time.       Where is the transparency in subscription costs? My elderly parents have been customers of the ******************** for many years. The cost of their home delivery subscription recently increased to over $3,600 a year - an untenable sum for persons on a fixed income. The online account management options provided no explanation, no insight into when their billing amount changed, no pricing for different subscription configurations, or a simple cancellation function. I appreciate the need for periodic changes to terms of service but the lack of communication or ability to manage the subscription borders on predatory.

      I am so disappointed with the Chicago Tribune! My father passed away on Friday, July 12th. My mother paid $635 dollars to have his obituary printed in their newspaper on Tuesday, July 16th. Due to their electricity going out and then their back up generator going out, the paper didn't print. Thus, my fathers death notice wasn't published. We checked the papers on Wednesday, July 17th. His death notice wasn't printed. I contacted the newspaper and was told why the papers didn't get printed on Tuesday, July 16th and that my mother would receive a refund of $635 dollars in 7-10 business days. It is now Friday, August 9th and my mother STILL hasn't received her refund. She has called and spoken to the manager of obituaries, *********************** and a few Chicago Tribune employees. They all have apologized and said that my mother would receive a refund because the paper was not printed on Tuesday, July 16th. Today, my Mom spoke to a Chicago Tribune employee named ****** and was told that the paper had been printed and thus, my mom would not be receiving a refund. My mother told her she had spoken to *********************** and a few other Chicago Tribune employees and they admitted to the paper not being printed that day (her neighbors and local stores can vouch for this as well since they didn't receive their copies) and that my Mom would receive a refund. ****** said shed have to speak to her manager and get back to my mom. I am beyond livid. My mother is grieving the loss of my father and is being hassled around by these employees. For what? She paid for a service. They didn't provide it. Thus, she wants and deserves a refund, but they're dragging their feet. It makes the Chicago Tribune and its staff look money hungry and incredibly rude. This used to be a respected paper. It definitely cant be called that anymore. I will be contacting a lawyer for my mother and ********* Its so sad that this is what things have come to.

      Paper has not been delivered 4 out of the last six days. I have called Tribune each time and was told they would re-deliver. They never do, so I have to call again to get a credit. After over 30 years as a subscriber I am going to cancel.

      I agreed to an amount to receive three days of Tribune. They billed me for more than they quoted on the phone. I didn't pay the bill. "THEY DIDN'T DELIVER THE NEWSPAPER "Weeks later they sent me a bill for $12.12.I called and said I never received a paper, and they said the account would be closed. Couple weeks later, I have received a notice from a collection agency (ARM Solutions) for the $12.12

      I am now being charged $420 up from $320 for the paper delivery every day. This was $100 increase in 6 weeks!!! I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years and this is jaw dropping ridiculous. This is absolutely the most predatory business practice I have ever seen. New customers pay 6.99 a week. I am paying $10 PER DAY!!

      Started the paper June 2, 2024. already missed two Sunday and two weekday tribunes. Same old story as two years ago. You will get your paper delivered by noon. That never happens. Need a person who is interested in the customer, and not just is answering the phone. customer service is terrible. they only deserve 1/2 of a star at best.

      I came here to complain about the Chicago Tribune Digital Services web site for "managing accounts", and had to laugh at the number of other reviews on the same subject. The Trib should offer a full management web site for subscribers that allows for viewing active billing periods, current rate and next billing cycle rate, and the ability to cancel at the click of a button. To see the average customer review as one star and the ******************** Rating and Accreditation at "A+" is truly laughable. My rating for treatment of customers is "F-".

      Morning paper is never delivered unless we call about missing delivery then this "morning" paper arrives after 1PM. CONTINUED complaints to customer service do not change this. I would give NO STARS if it was an option.
