On 7/19 at 4:00 PM I walked into a Jewelry store called Hanna Jewelry ******************************************************). The sign on the door said they buy gold. I had two items: a small gold pendent and one large gold hoop earring. I told the owner that I had lost the other earring the day before, and wanted to sell the one earring since I had no use for the earring. I told him that the earring was 18K gold with a stamp on the earring showing the carat. I said I wanted to sell the pendant too. He took the items and gave me $60. When I asked why the amount was so low he tried to convince me that this was not 18K gold but a 14K. Despite not being convinced I took the money and left. Once at home I found the missing earring. I started replaying what had went on in the store realizing realized that the store owner had never weighted my items, kept referring to the earring as 14k and when he gave me the $60 he said it was for the earring and did not say anything about the pendent. Regardless I decided I wanted my earring back now that I had found the other & might as well get the pendent too.Since the store had already closed, I went first thing in the morning to buy back my items. I got there at 10:00 AM (store sign says it opens at 10:00) the store was closed. I came back at 11:00 AM it was still closed & finally at 12:00 noon It was open. I went inside and told the store owner who had taken my items the day before that I wanted to buy back my items since I had found my missing earring which I showed him. He refused and became belligerent and defensive. Within the course of 5 minutes his story kept changing from Im not giving them back to you to the items have been shipped (didnt tell me where), to asking me to pay him $20 for the time he was wasting taking to me etc. I asked him to stop playing games & give me back my items. I told him I will file a complaint with BBB. He laughed at me as I left the store.
