In mid June of 2022, we paid CR Ebert ** a deposit of $12,000 toward supplies and labor for a contract we signed to have the siding and windows replaced at *******************************************************. ***** Ebert informed me that the work would likely start 6-8 weeks from that date. Due to supply chain issues, we were patient in waiting for the work to begin. ***** informed me in October that he had obtained the permit from the *********************. The week ending October 24, 2022, ***** stopped responding to our requests for updates on the project. We called the ********************* who informed us that ***** had NOT picked up the permit as he had told us he had, and that he hadn't submitted his vendor registration either. I emailed, texted and called ***** and asked him to please refund our deposit so we could have the work done by someone else before winter. He responded, stating "that is fine. Only problem is that I don't have the money right now. Will get it to you as I get it." He stole the property owner's money with no intention of completing the work. We need the money back.
