    Town & Country Motors Response

To Whom it may concern, ******* purchased a ****** Maxima from **. ******* had every right to fully inspect the car before purchase but after test driving it he agreed to purchase the vehicle as-is no warranty. His mother called us and mentioned the car was at the shop and they said it needed a motor, we had the car towed to us so we could see for ourself, the shop who initially diagnosed it said it needed a timing chain blew and it was cheaper to replace the motor rather then replace the timing chain. After we had a mechanic check it out, he said the same thing the other shop said. While the vehicle was sold as-is, we did try to help the customer out by splitting the cost of the repair. ******* agreed to it, and we searched for motor. After ******* came and paid his half of the repair we scheduled it with the guy and told ******* it will be a couple weeks and it will be ready. While it took longer then expected to complete the job, we agreed to give him a loaner for the weekend until his car would be ready for pickup. During that time he came to pick up his loaner, his mother was with him and created a scene by ******* and being unprofessional. We tried to explain to her that the vehicle did not show any signs of issues at the time of purchase and ******* was satisfied when he agreed to purchase, it was sold as-is, and the lemon law does not apply to said vehicle. While it was an unfortunate situation we felt it was fair to split the cost, when we didnt have to do anything but felt it was right to do so. After the motor job was done, the shop said it needed a front and middle catalytic converter, so we replaced them, without charging the customer. When ******* pickup the vehicle the shop owner and employees said when he pulled off he floored it like it was a race car and called it to warn us that if that's the way he's gonna be driving it then it will not last long. Sure enough about a week later, ******* calls us and says his car broke down so we sent a tow and towed it to the shop. A day later the mechanic called us and said there was a big hole on the side of the motor, that was more then likely caused by too much torque when acerating/driving it excessively. His employees claim that they seen him multiple times around town racing etc. Therefore when the car originally broke down the first time it might have been a result of driving it excessively.
