Complaint Mechanic replaced parts that were not necessary and I was charged for the replacement plus the parts. 2004 S430 4matic.Had airstrut leak. Diagnosed as compressor failure. Compressor replaced did not solve problem, diagnosed as air valve leaking. Replaced it and it did not solve the issue. Replaced only thing left in system for failure which was the strut. Was charged 1350.00 for the 3 replacements. 2 parts changed needlessly.Talked with mechanic and on 2 occasions he said he didn't know for sure. Mechanic has 20 yrs experience with MB cars. Compressor wasn't bad because system still leaked after replacement, air valve wasn't bad because system still leaked after it was replaced. Took over 7 days to repair (?) car. Mechanic was hiding around corner of business knowing I was not happy to avoid me . He made no excuses nor did he apologize for the lack of knowledge about this issue. He offered no adjustment to bill other than not to charge 2 hours labor to install the strut. I asked for parts he replaced and they are not around thrown away and sent for core return.Or something. Car was taken to shop on or around Mar 26 2014. Picked up today June 6 2014 . Bottom line is the parts he replaced were not bad or needing replacement and I had to pay for him replacing them . I paid for parts that weren't needing replacement. Mechanic is not competent enough to work on cars.
Desired Settlement I want at least $500 adjustment in bill. That's the cost or compressor and airvalve he replaced. Paid $670 to replace the compressor . Bill to replace air valve is included in strut replacement of an additional $1340.

I just submitted a complaint to you about a business :Springs Road Car Care . I noticed an error in my complaint but somehow I wasn't allowed to fix the error. I stated it cost $1340 for replacing 3 items. This is incorrect The number of items replaced for that amount was 2 not 3. The 3rd part was $670.00
Business Response Called Mr.********* on 6/25/14 in regard to his complaint that he tried calling the technician that worked on his car 3 times and the technician would not return his call. Mr ********* said he could not remember the days or who he talked to. In my investigation with the personnel at Springs Road Car Care there are NO message from Mr ********* either verbal or on the answering machine. The technician is more than willing to talk to Mr ********* and when I ask to set up a time for him to come in, he said he could not till sometime next week. I offered to put the technician on the phone and he said he did not have time to talk to him. If Mr ********* would like to talk to us in regards to his service and the charges he was charged we WOULD BE MORE THAN GLAD TO TALK TO HIM, BUT HE HAS TO MAKE THE TIME FOR IT. Thank you, **************
