            Bought a large smoker pit for my husband’s birthday. After the unit was delivered my husband noticed the end door to the charcoal barrel did not close correctly. There was a large gap at the bottom which caused issues in trying to get the unit to the correct temperature and also when trying to cool off the unit. When we first contacted Jeff’s backyard they said they would exchange the unit. Then a few days later they changed their minds and said we had to accept the product as is. They were very rude and did not care whether the item was acceptable or not. We spent almost $2000 for the smoker. We have gone ahead and hired a welder to come and repair the smoker at our own expense of $100.

            The customer looked at the product extensively before purchasing. It is not a defect it is the way the smoker is manufactured. Jeff's Backyard contacted the manufacturer to verify this. The customer wanted to exchange the smoker for a more expensive one, that has the same gap, as the one purchased. The customer wanted the exchange at no cost to them. We were not able to do this. The customer kept asking for free things to satisfy their dissatisfaction with their purchase. We are a small business and cannot give away free merchandise.
