Called engine builders to rebuild my motor and transmission. I should have seen the red flags when they said they do cash only. Zelled them ******* when they picked up my truck which was a day late because the tow truck broke down. They had my truck for two weeks to repair it called me to come pick it up and l brought cash. They did the paper work l gave them cash and it was 5:00P.M They came in and said there was a check engine light on so l said rather than try to fix it today fix it in the morning . Now a week later they won't return calls and my truck is at the place that does the transmission work. No response, no return calls no idea what is going on. Just trying to get my truck back now. Wouldn't recommend anyone take their car there for anything. My mistake giving them any money before my truck was rolled out front and ready to go.Review from Nicholas C

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE!!! The customer service is absolutely horrible. If there is a problem with the car after they rebuild it and they have to look at it then don't expect it back anytime soon. When you do finally get your car back you will find there are more issues wrong with it they messed up and either won't acknowledge they messed up or just not say anything about it. Here's a few examples.1.My vehicle uses vacuum pressure to control which vent it comes out of. Well the "mechanic" broke one of the vacuum lines and rather than replacing it( which it's cheap. Like 5 bucks for about 6 feet of vacuum line. The plastic hard kind) he decided to put a smaller piece in the broken spot and use grey RTV silicon to make it seal. Well guess what, it didn't seal. I replaced the line like a good mechanic should know to do.2.My vehicle came back to me without an air filter.. very odd since it had one when I dropped it off. This next one is my personal favorite though.3.I dropped my vehicle off for them to look at on October 7th of 2021 cause it started to shake real bad. I called on a by weekly basis as to not bug them. Every call was they either didn't know what was wrong or the mechanic wasn't there for them to talk to him or someone was not in the office for some illness or something idk. The excuses got pretty funny and I have them all recorded. When I did talk to the lady I was told several times they would call me back. **** no one called me back. So after waiting 75 days (2 months and 15 days) I just decided to go pickup my car wether it was fixed or not. Mind you I paid this place $3600 to fix the motor. With the slew of problems after this transaction I should have just got a different car. But when I finally did get my car on December 22nd 2021 I found that my passenger side door does not open from the outside. What made me laugh at this is that I changed all the door handles to brand new oem ones that were black and not white like the original ones cause I had one break on me.. now when I dropped the car off that door worked fine. But now I have to fix it cause they decided to break it and not say anything.I still don't know what they "fixed" cause the "mechanics" were the ones that gave me my car. The lady inside was too busy to be bothered with customers cause she was on the phone. I was angry that it took 75 days to get my car back so yea I was yelling and screaming like anyone would be after a lose of use of my vehicle.MORAL: Dont spend your money here! There are too many other places that offer better customer service and will do as they say. Not tell you one thing and do another. The Engine Builders Response

First off, I am the only one who answers the phone. We are extremely busy. The first time this gentleman called our technician was out on a test drive and I told him so. Our guys go to lunch anytime between 12 and 2 which was the case the second time the gentleman called. Our warranty says to call us and we will schedule a time when he can bring the vehicle in to be checked and he may be required to return at a future date to effect repairs which did not happened in this case. Warranties that come in are completed in the order at which it is was received. His vehicle was in line to be repaired. Secondly, we do not let vehicles go out without checking everything. We know that if dirt comes in thru the air filter it will ruin the engine. We like making money just as the next business does and if it had gone out without an air filter in it it would have been on us and we would have had to put a new motor in it under warranty costing us money, so, no, we did not send it out without an air filter. Thirdly, the only door we would have used is the drivers side door and if we had broken the door handle we would have replaced it as we do other parts if we are at fault for breaking them. We do not use the passenger side door nor its door handle. Lastly, I was in the office with a closed door. We take COVID very seriously and in doing so our door is clearly marked with a sign that states "Please knock and someone will be out shortly. Do Not Enter". This gentleman bust through the front door yelling and cussing while I was on an important business phone call. When I told him I was since he couldn't see that I was he continued yelling 'Do I look like I give a f***" and continued with his tirade. I told him to go back outside and I would be with him in a minute and he still continued on. I spoke over him to be heard and I told him I was going to be a few minutes and I can't call the guy back so he was going to have to wait a minute and he could go back out front and wait. I thought a few minutes would allow the guy to chill out and make him easier to talk to which it would a normal person but when I heard him yelling at someone out front I put my call on hold and asked our builder to go out front and see what the commotion was about and went back to my call. When I completed my call both the customer and the car where gone. When you want good quality answers and expect to get them you can't go off on everyone and expect a good outcome. We put the engine in this customers vehicle on August 20th, 2020 and it came back on October 7, 2021, 14 months later, for a warranty issue.Review from bobby b

Dropped an engine off there February 15th 2021 to be rebuilt. Once it was done they were going to install it. I was told 2-3 weeks to rebuild. Now over 6 months later I cant get anyone to answer or return my calls. When I could get them to answer it was always it will be ready next week. At this point Im assuming they have stolen my engine and I was forced to buy a crate engine and install it myself. so now I am out my $500 core charge since I cant get my engine back. I highly recommend NOT dealing with this company if you value your vehicle or engine at all. Probably the worst customer service I have ever seen and very shady business. The Engine Builders Response
