Complaint I have a five year warranty on parts for a heating unit put in by Mr. ******. I cannot reach him to address the fact that the unit is not working. I am willing to pay for services if they will work with me on a payment plan as I have minimum income on social security and have recently suffered from a heart attack. I physically cannot take the recently cold mornings without heat with my heart condition. I am presently working PT to try a obtain enough funds to take care of this but I cannot reach Mr. ******.
Business Response Mrs.**** has an overdue balance of a $1,000.00 deductible from 6/17/13 which she has made no effort to make payments. Therefore until this amount is paid our company can not provide for Mrs. **** any service. Her equipment is under warranty with the Manufacture not with Emergency Maintenance, therefore she can call any other Heating and Air company for service. If any proof of documents is need Emergency Maintenance will be happy to fax them over.
Consumer Response Consumer requested BBB take rebuttal response via phone: The following was transcribed via phone; The duct work was never properly installed. I had someone come out and verify for me that the heat is going to the ground because the duct work is not connected to the vents. I think that Emergency Maintenance should be addressing that it was never placed in properly. As far as owing him money, I was never sent a bill for 1000.00. I was under the impression that my deductible was 300.00. I can pay him 150.00 now and 150.00 later. But I was never informed about 1000.00 deductible. I would at least like a description of what he did when he installed it. Some form of documentation showing the work that he claims was done.
Final Business Response AS STATED, AS A RESULT OF HER UNIT BEING HIT BY LIGHTING, HER INSURANCE COMPANY ONLY AGREED TO PAY TOWARDS HER UNIT BEING HIT BY LIGHTING LEAVING HER TO PAY A DEDUCTIBLE OF $1,000.00. AS FOR THE OVERALL DUCTWORK HER INSURANCE COMPANY DID NOT DEEM HER DUCTWORK AS BEING HIT BY LIGHTING NOR AS BEING COVERED UNDER HER POLICY. THIS HOUSE WAS BUILD IN 1969, EMERGENCY MAINTENANCE DID NOT INSTALL THE DUCTWORK OR VENT(S)THOUGH OUT THE HOUSE, WE ONLY UP-GRADED IT BY ADDING A VENT TO HER 2nd BATHROOM AN ANOTHER TO HER LIVING ROOM, WHICH WERE BOTH CONNECTED AT THE TIME (OVER A YEAR AGO) FUTHERMORE THE VERY SAME CONTRACTOR SHE CALLED, CALLED US AS WELL AND SAID SOMETHING DIFFERANT AND GAVE HER BACK THE MONEY FOR THE TRIP FEE AND REFUSE TO WORK FOR HER.
HER CLAIM REPRESENTATIVE IS, ******* ****** PHONE: X-XXX-XXX-XXXX X **** EMAIL: *******@hallmarkinsco.com CLAIM# *XXXXXXX HE WILL BE HAPPY TO INFORM YOU OF HER $1,000.00 DEDUCTIBLE AND THAT SHE WAS INFORM BY THEM AND ALSO WE WILL BE HAPPY AS WELL TO INFORM HIM THAT MRS. **** HAS FAILED TO PAY SO HE CAN UPDATE IT IN HER RECORD.
