On 7/29/24 I signed an agreement with TrustHome properties to rent my property at *************************. When I initially spoke with the owner over the phone, she promised to work fast to get my property listed by 8/1 so we could get a tenant in before summer ended. After I signed the contract contact became almost non existent and I decided I couldnt trust this company with my property. I asked to cancel the agreement because of lack of communication since signing the contract and then I finally heard from the owner again to try and convince me to continue with the contract. I had already made my mind and knew I needed to pay $300 to get out of the contract. She texted me saying to think about it for the rest of the day before canceling even though I already asked to cancel the contract over email (and she never responded to my email). The next day I texted her I still wanted to cancel and how to pay the $300 and it took 3 days to get a response. She said she gave me access to a portal to pay with credit card but I never got an email. I went on their website to try and create an account with their portal and it said it would send me an email if I had an account set up but I did not get an email. When I texted the owner to confirm she got my email she did not respond. Its been over a week and I still feel hopeless about getting my keys back. When I call the office it goes to voicemail every time. She takes at least 2-3 business days to respond to basic texts. She also said I needed to pay at least 1 day before picking up my keys which is not in the contract. She also could not tell me what the credit card fee is when I asked but told me she thinks there is one. This business is shady and I feel anxious not being able to get the keys to my house back. Every day they take to respond is a day wasted where I cant sell or rent my property.
