In December we engaged Midwest Movers to move our household possessions from ****** to ******. We paid them the required deposit. We signed a contract to pay them the balance on delivery. They were supposed to pick up the items on January 2. The date was very important to us because of our flight. ****** promised that this would be done. Then the date was changed to Jan 3. Then 4. Then finally on Jan 6 the pick up was done. We were told we would be provided with an official print out of the weight of our items. We had to change our flight because of their delay. After about 3 weeks They demanded we $******* in advance before they would deliver. We told them we stand ready and willing to pay what is due once they deliver the items in accordance with their own contract. They refused to provide proof of the print out to show the weight, a proper invoice and most importantly proof that all our items arrived safely in ******. The just kept asking for money. We told them that their own contract said that they would deliver the items in exchange for cash or certified cheque which we have. They refused and have not been taking any of our calls. We are still waiting for our items. We have the funds ready to pay but it is highly suspicious that they are not able to provide proof that they have all our items and they refuse to deliver as per the contract. They say they dont trust us. Why would they not trust us when they are the ones with our personal and professional items. We are now forced to buy beds and kitchen utensils as we have nothing for our new home. They refuse to respond to our calls but have emailed us threatening to charge us for storage when they are the ones refusing to deliver. We are asking for your assistance with the recovery of our items, proof of the correct weight of the items and delivery to ******. We will also be seeking damages for any expenses we incurred as a result of their inordinate delay.
