Very poor management and no notice of an increase charge! This is a Dust Contol business on the side for Jeff Trombley. He has many local customers where for many years, provided applying liquid calcium on gravel roads for families living on farms. The application is according to how many feet on road the customer wants to have covered in the calcium. It is done once in early July and once in late fall. The price was $1.75 pr ft for years and we would order 300 ft every year since we moved here including the previous owners. The RM had a funding grant that paid for half the cost, however last year we were given notice the funding ran out and we'd be paying in full for 2023. For $525 including taxes, we decided to continue. In November this year, we still hadn't heard from Jeff on the statement. I contacted him through text and said he should send the statement so we could pay before Christmas is near and our funds would be spent...he replied "soon". Didn't mention of any increase. Here it is 10 days before Christmas and he text messaged a pic of the bill. $630! No notice! So unprofessional! This is wrong! I suppose this is his way of saying "Merry Christmas to all!" I called BBB Sk and know I could easily put in a complaint but I thought about his timing on the dust control applications as well, that he, being a farmer himself, can never make it before the roads become heavy in traffic but only after all the semis and farm equipment go up and down the road before July (seeding) and after August (harvest). So I suppose it's just not worth it and spending all that money. Now for the future, we can save $630 and enjoy buying our grandchildren a few Christmas gifts under the tree!
