I went to a tattoo artist and she went way too deep in multiple places causing blow out, not deep enough in other places, didn't check the quality of the needles before use to make sure there was no damage during packaging or shipping, used the same dirty paper towels over and over and did not get more until the tattoo was done, none of the lines are straight, the colour has no saturation and when I asked what she planned to do to remedy the situation she tried to blame the quality of her work on me and refused to do anything other than work on it more which is obviously not something that I want after the first experience. I do not recommend going to her at all unless you want to have damage done to your skin and end up paying someone else to fix your tattoo.

Nighttrain Tattoo is not the shop that this complaint is about. I made this complaint in regards to MAS INK which is a tattoo shop inside another shop. MAS Ink works out of Whiplashed Beauty Bar owned by ***** ********* MAS INK is owned and ran by **** Alice ****** Her ******** page is attached below along with contact information for her.

This client came to me with an already designed tattoo. She was well informed about my  time working in the shop, she said she did her research and saw my work and chose me. She read and signed a consent form upon arrival. When coming to her appointment she informed me that she wanted it over self harm scars all up her arm. When I informed her of the possible healing of the tattoo as well as the pain that will come with going over scars she said she wanted it there anyway. I was very considerate of her pain, when I saw she was struggling I gave her multiple opportunities to take a few minutes to recollect , offered to do just line work and she could come back another day with no extra charge to do the colour. I asked her after I was done if she was happy and she said she loved it. Two days later I messaged her asking how it was doing and she said she loved it. I saw her two weeks after her appointment out in public and asked again, she said she was happy with it. I constantly check my needles after they are delivered, open every needle in front of the client and always push the needles out to check for damage, while fully gloved. I also went through about ***** sheets of Paper towel while doing her tattoo. Never do I use one to the point it can no longer be used. She reached out on august 1st stating she was unhappy. I told her I could touch up lines no problem, but that her moving as much as she did during the tattoo, assuming from the pain, could have (not did, but could have) an impact on the line consistency.  She said no and I told her if she read my policy she would see that the deposit is non refundable, and that if she states she is happy after the tattoo she is not eligible for refund. She then turned belligerent, and started coming up with new reasons (all without fact) why she was unhappy with my service. Came up with lie after lie then publicly posted defamation on the internet. She tried to inform me that another artist told her she was very surprised she never got an infection, which has never happened with a single one of my clients. But I also remembered her telling me her boyfriend does home tattoos I assume that is who she got her information from. My room is always sterile, as are my supplies. My room is sterilized and cleaned before and after each appointment. Her unacceptable behaviour made me worry for myself especially since she had a very recent (June 2025) charge with a weapon. She harassed me through messages after I apologized for not giving her what she wanted but she kept harassing  by posting all over ******** about my buisness. So I had since blocked her.  I made sure to make a public post on my buisness page asking new and loyal clients what I could do better and heard nothing but good things from all of them. And only because she told me she didnt believe I put any care into her or her tattoo.

I am rejecting this response because:

Firstly, the scars are in a small area that doesn't even take up the entirety of the tattoo. In fact the area of the tattoo that is over the scars is small and it is only on the surface of the skin, not deep scarring.

*econd, I did say I was happy with it when she was done, however I had assumed that it looked the way that it did due to the great deal of swelling that occurred during the tattoo process. I waited for it to heal so that I could tell the true quality of the tattoo before reaching out the artist.

Third, when I saw her in public two weeks after I received my tattoo it was only in passing and the most we said was hi, I never said anything to her about my tattoo as at that point it had mostly healed and I was not pleased with the way that it looked already.

Forth, she did open the needles in front of me, however all she did was push them up through the tip twice to make sure they didn't get stuck or anything, she did not check to see if the tips of the needles had been damaged during packaging or delivery.

Fifth, she did not use ***** paper towels while doing my tattoo, she used ****************************************************** ink, blood and water that when she used it quite a few times it put the wipes off ink back onto my arm which creates a high risk for infection.

*ixth, I reached out on *eptember first to let her know that I was unhappy with the result of the tattoo and the experience I had with her and she proceeded to blame me for the quality of her work and harass me over messages on ********, I then block her on ******** and she proceeded to harass and berate me on the review that I had left on her ******** business page.

*eventh, I did not move at all during my tattoo, this is not my first tattoo and I handle the pain very well. This time was much worse than any other time as she went way too deep with the needles into my arm which is what caused me to be in so much pain during the tattoo. However, regardless of the *********************** completely loose and did not move the entire time and when I got up after it was done my arm all the way to my shoulder was sore from not moving the entire time.

Eighth, I never made up anything new, everything that I said was consistent from the very beginning as I have no reason to lie and have not lied or changed anything about what I have said from the very beginning.

Ninth, I went to multiple other artist with 10 or more years of tattooing to have them take a look at my tattoo and talk to them about my experience to see if it was normal as the procedure for things changes constantly and I wanted to make sure that I had the most current information about it as possible before reaching out to her about a possible refund or even partial refund to reconcile the issue as I do understand that the material she used is bought by her with her own money, but she became rude and aggressive with me and blamed everything on me. I did not get any of my information from my partner like she assumed, Ijust did not tell her who as they asked me not too so it does not blow back on them.

Tenth, I was never rude with her and I never once said anything to her that would cause her to believe I would harm her either, in fact I had to tell her to leave me alone or I would have to call the cops for harassment. The fact that she felt the need to bring up my person life in this is absolutely despicable and disrespectful.

Eleventh, I did not harass her, she harassed me which I have proof of and will be adding to this complaint. Also I even said at one point that I'm not sure if she was just having a bad day but the way that she acted and spoke to me when I reached out about it was completely unprofessional and she continued to harass and berate me over ********.

Twelfth, I added a photo of my tattoo from the day after it was done where you can see that the ink is already blowing out around the * and T of the word stronger from how deep she went with the needles and that area is nowhere near the area where my surface scarring is located which is boxed in red in the photo. I also added proof that I had to block her as she would not stop messaging me as well as the proof of her beratement over the review on her ******** business page.

Thirteenth, The proof of her beratement over the review on her ******** business page is only part of it as it went on for a little bit and I am only able to add so many photos of my proof. I would also like to add that I did not post all over ******** about her business but rather left a bad review on her page which she is not happy about, but I did not go around posting everywhere about her business, I just left a review as a warning to others what they may encounter if they choose her as an artist which is exactly what reviews are for and she harassed and berated me over it. I even mentioned it at one point saying that it was wrong and asking her is she  planned to do this to everyone that had a bad experience with her and chooses to leave a review about it.

    *incerely,

    *****-**** *****
