    ***** ******** was the contractor to my building that i just completed on August 27, 2022. I did not move in as i was doing some renos, until February 2022. In the summer it was extremely hot and i felt that the only solution was to get a powerful A/C, 14,000 BTU. When i put it on, the breaker kept tripping. I found out that i needed a dedicated outlet and as i live in a condo that was impossible. My solution was to install, Strata approved, a new outlet. Further discovery was that there were 13 outlets on this one particular breaker which, from the Electrical Safety Officer of the area confirmed (**** ******, TechnicalSafetybc.ca), was NOT to code. I pointed this out to the developer, Quantum Properties and they told me that this was not a unwarrantable item as well ***** took no responsibility. My responsibility was to pay for the extra outlet, begrudgingly as Phases 2 - 4 of this complex has A/C whilst mine, Phase 1 does not. However, what i also decided to do was to break out the circuit to lessen the load, this was the right and safe thing to do. If i sell this condo in the future, you can be sure that the electrical will be inspected so i will need to be fully disclosing. In any event, that extra bit of work, splitting out the circuit, cost me $800.00 plus a portion of the $300.00 drywall charge. The total bill, for FYI, was over $4,000 in total. My request is to have $860.00 back as a refund from ***** for work that was not done to code.
