We built our new home by Forbes Capretto and moved in 2018. Some of the post construction issues were addressed by them and some were not. Recently, I had noticed our hardwood floors were beginning to "cup". I found that the cause was a water leak from under the kitchen sink that went unnoticed due to the water going from the cabinet and down the supply lines, onto the plywood under the hardwood flooring. The reason for the leak was found to be the initial installation of the PVC drain pipes under the kitchen sink as well as the drain hose from the dishwasher. I had a private contractor check the cause of the leak and found that one pipe was too short at the connection and the drain hose from the dishwasher was not installed correctly. This caused the connection at the drain to fail and subsequently cause significant damage to the hardwood flooring. I contacted the builder, Forbes-Capretto who told me that the house was out of warranty and that there was nothing that they would do to help me. I explained that the cause was the initial installation but they still would not accept any responsibility and forced me to go though my home owners insurance to get the cabinet, piping and flooring fixed. It will be three (3) months of disruption now, phone calls and communications to the builder and contractors , plus an insurance claim to get my home fixed; all which should have been addressed by the builder. Forbes-Capretto was happy to take our money to build our home but would not stand by their work or with us (the customer) when this issue arose and was presented to them. Instead they refused to accept any responsibility or help us in any way. I always considered Forbes-Capretto to be an elite builder but have been very disappointed with their lack of assistance in this matter.
