Terrible company and service! They charge a lot and do not deliver for such a high price. There is no chance to get a refund and they do not care to explain to you the issues that might come up or how to resolve them. Their only goal is to get the money from you. If it were possible, I would give less than a star.Review from Lauren D

Trying to give less than 1 star and baffled at how this shows up as a b credit with better business bureau especially given the list of negative reviews below. really wanted to like this company and was excited for my daughters trip, which was cancelled due to unrest in the area they planned to travel. ** refused to fully refund our money and kept $600 for what they called "admin Fees" I was going to give them another try and asked that the "admin fees" be applied to the next trip. this request was refused.Review from Joe A

Charged me $600 in Aug 2024 for cancelling my son's trip which is in March of 2025?!$195 non-refundable for insurance?$95 for whatever?$300 cancelation fee?I would not book any trips for our son with this company after reading all the negative reviews and my own personal experience.Review from Anna L

Can I give less than 1 star? Horrible accommodations, worse food- but the adults/chaperones drink alcohol during meals and in the lobbies at night. Serious safety concerns. A tour guide that wont address the concerns other than telling the girls theres no crime here/ go to bed. Same tour guide that lies to me multiple times as my daughter calls me scared with her roommates and tries to force another teenage girl to tell me everything is fine. Add all that to a company that refuses to connect me with someone to discuss the matter with. Disappointing and infuriating.Review from Aruna M

I have had a very negative experience with the EF Educational Tours. I lost a huge amount of money for the tour cancellation due to the pandemic and we were told it would be rescheduled. They deducted a large sum of money for no fault of mine or my child. When I tried to call they were not helpful. All this done to a minor child who only wanted to take a school trip. This has left me struggling financially. It is a very sad state of affairs.Review from Aida L

My first trip with EF Tours to Europe was a complete disappointment. I paid over $5,000 dollars not including the extra money I had to pay for tips and I think I overpayed. First I was never given the credit for signing up early in the process. Secondly the places we stayed at for the exception of the last place were all subpar. The villa we stayed in while in **** was not properly taken care of. Problems during our stay there included toilets that didnt work properly, a door frame that came off, flooding, and bed thats was peed on by a cat that was left in the room after the cleaning personnel was done cleaning. Most of the hotels had non working ACs. Included in the price was breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was fine but most of the dinners were not great. The dinner menu was set and we didnt have choices and the food wasnt always the best. I would had preferred for EF Tours to pay for lunch and I buy my own dinner. The tour guide was excellent and did everything he could to make things better ( the reason for 2 stars). I was there as a traveler but I felt that I did more to help the other travelers than the chaperones. I think EF Tours needs to do a better job training the chaperones and making sure they understand that they are there for the students that they are traveling with because at the end of the day the price we are paying includes their expenses as well. I felt at times that some of the chaperones only cared about themselves and didnt make sure everyone was enjoying the experience. For over a year in a half I was looking forward to the trip but I doubt very much I would take a trip with EF Tours again. Total disappointment!!!!!!!Review from Virginia M.

This is a horrible company to use for your child if they are looking to travel with their school. Do NOT use them! We had to cancel my daughters trip with her school and since we could not find another student to take her place they have KEPT all of what we have paid!!! I was told to file an insurance claim, which I did and was denied. This place is an absolute joke and so is their travel insurance. I wish I had read the reviews before we had signed up to travel. You are better off saving your money and traveling without a school group. I do not see how this company can legally take ALL of what your have paid but they do and will. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY NOT MATTER HOW MUCH YOUR CHILD BEGS!!!!!!!!Review from Yvette E

Through EF Educational Tours, our student went on a trip to ***** and several cities, June 24th - July 5th, with the high school. We have many questions. The total trip cost was over $5,000. First, we can not get an itemized list of the cost of the trip - airline fees, hotel accommodations, food cost, tours (individual) costs, travel costs, etc. from EF Educational Tours nor the chaperones. Also, expectations regarding food and room accommodations were horrible. The hotel room had an air conditioner unit but it didn't work. The room had visible mold and the bed linens were not clean. The students had no choice of meals. It's shameful that students were treated like 3rd class people. The only reason for 2 stars is they did get to their destination safely and back home safely. We won't give them a second chance. Our interactions with EF Tours were limited, the teachers leading the trips were very proactive and there were several meetings, emails, text messages, etc. They also started the process well in advance, they started planning 2 years before the projected travel date. This was our student's first abroad trip and our student called home the fourth day asking to come home because of the hotel and food. A few times the chaperones were unkind to the students with yelling and fussing for other's behavior. Instead of calling the troubling students to the side, everyone was scolded except those students whose parents were there. No, this was the first and last time we will use EF Tours to sponsor a trip.Review from XX X

I went on the ***** and ***** trip. Let me tell you. WHY were we served gray gravy on a piece of Cosco white bread on the first day? Didn't even arrive to our hotel first thing in the hot humid sun. People had to CHANGE in the bus after 16 hours of flights! Our tour guide wasn't even from *****! Self-guided tour on the first day?? Because plans failed?? And then we were given the wrong times for the Vatican so we were separated! Our luggage fell out of the BUS! Hotels were 50/50. Some okay, some HORRID. I am grateful for the experience, but holy c*** Maybe you should bring your children to these trips. Because they'll have great HORROR stories to tell. I know I am.Review from Dawn C

They ****. I understand that this is suppose to be just a trip for students, so you dont stay in the best hotels, the meals arent at all what youd expect while traveling to ******, but the communication with these folks is horrible. The rooming situation is RIDICULOUS and they charge crazy fees just so you can room with your own child, then others get lucky and room with their kids without paying an extra dime. When you have a tragedy in your family and your mind is anywhere but trying to plan a trip and you beg them to refund the money you spent on extra insurance that you were talked into getting, but you didnt even need, they just dont care. Sorry, its past 10 days, we are keeping your money. Once they get your money, there is no way on earth they will ever consider any type of refund, no matter what your reasoning is. Then you go on these trips and the bus driver knows WAY more than the actual tour guide, so he becomes your tour guide. The tour guide doesnt know what youd expect she should and instead of trying to plan while youre on the bus for over an hour, they wait til you get off the bus and then everyone stands around waiting, wasting time for a meeting place and time to be set. I hated dealing with the manager in their office (*******), she may think shes doing a great job, but I beg to differ. Upon returning from this last trip, I even attempted to contact the *** (************) via a very lengthy, detailed email, which, of course, I received no reply. Forwarded that email to wonderful *******, who politely said, we are not refunding a **** thing. Go find some other suckers..you wont get me back.
