Workmanship warranty is not honored. Mr ******* was very thorough in completing many aspects of the new standing seam metal roof. However he did not apply the same workmanship to our evestroughing.He dismantled and reinstalled our eves troughing ( for a price) and downspouts. The problem now is the rainwater overflows the evestroughing and spills over the downspout at the end wall. There is also a gap here and it leaks. I have deduced because it is a metal roof the rainwater naturally runs off the roof at a faster rate and spills over the Evestroughing. This is not just a little but in torrents and is like a river flowing over the sidewall of our house. If it isn't taken care of the deck and wall will rot out. I believe he should have predicted this in his plan or design when he took on our job. He should have reccomended that we replace the gutters with larger gutters and add more downspouts one at each corner. He is the expert in roofing as well as gutters. This should have been predicted and resolved before he began the job. When l emailed him about the issue he said he was semi retired and it was not worth his while to come from Wolfville to Bridgewater l should hire someone local. He said I should have spillover panels installed. That was unsatisfactory to me as he was the contractor installing the evestroughing his workmanship had a 5 year warranty. He took on the job. I won't be able to get another contractor to come to fix it as it is a nuisance job. The end section also leaks as they cut a notch in the gutter to get it to fit. It doesn't fit and there is a gap it continually leaks at that point and the gutter was narrowed to do that so the water doesn't even go down the downspout it runs over the end and down the sidewall like a river. If l dont do something the sidewall of the house will rot out. I will have to call a local contractor and have all the eves replaced and more and larger downspouts installed that is the only way to do the job properly l think to take care of the torrents of water rushing off the roof. He should have predicted this but narrowing the gutter by cutting a notch out of it at that point only exasperatedthe problem.. I can't recall what l paid him for dismantling the fairly new evestroughing and downspouts but obviously a new or improved system should have been designed to cope with the faster and greater waterflow. He is not honoring his warranty as he does not see it as his job. I am greatly disappointed and dont have the energy to haggle this out with him its too stressful. We will hope we can find an evestruogh guy who can replace the whole system and add more new downspouts. We are very disappointed.
