I sent this *** to the management office on July 18, 2023 and have not received a response back yet.Dear Paxton management,I am sending this email to inform you that I am suffering from exposure to secondhand marijuana smoke in my living environment. Secondhand smoke has been seeping into my residence from the neighbors in the adjacent apartments, seems as if the unit is behind mine connecting to the master bedroom and bathroom. This has been ongoing since moved in on July 06, ********************************************************************************* my apartment for 4 nights. Myself and my 11 year old son have developed a constant cough and sore throat. The fumes from the smoke are in our hair, clothes and carpet throughout the apartment. I have only been able to sleep 8 hours the past 48hours and am having to sleep with a mask on, consume water all night and use my nasal spray along with a lung support supplement to clear my airways and nasal passages. Not only does the smoke smell, its a health risk. Secondhand smoke contains more than ***** chemicals. Of these, 70 can cause cancer and hundreds are toxic. The smoke seeps through light fixtures and electrical outlets. It passes through windows and doorways. It passes through ventilation systems. This smoke causes asthma in kids and adults. Its also bad for older people and those with heart and breathing problems. There is no safe level of secondhand smoke. The only way to protect your health is to keep smoke away. I reported this to the management office via several emails and texted and have asked to request residents smoke outside. But this has not worked. Smoke-free policies protect health in buildings like ours and according to the leasing documents I signed are a violation to the rules of this property.Please allow me to move into another building that is free of smoke. I am currently on the 3rd floor and have moved some of my belongings up 3 flights of stairs.
