    THE STORY OF MY RECLINER AND FERGUSON FURNITURE STORE
    Right now I want the whole world to know that I have a very bitter taste in my mouth towards Ferguson Furniture here in Benton, AR and this is why. I went to their store on Saturday July 3rd in search for a good recliner and was met at the door by Mr. ***** ******* I told him what I was looking for and that the chair had to be comfortable and sturdy as I slept in a recliner due to my medical condition. We looked at a couple of manual recliners but with their new ratcheting technology I found it difficult to operate the manual lever to raise and lower the chair. Well, Mr ***** advised that I could get me a cheater pipe to slide down over the operating arm to make it easier. At the time I thought he was only kidding me but now, in retrospct, I think he was actually serious. At any rate we moved on to Power recliners and I found one I really liked that had a remote control as well as on board controls. It was priced at around $2000.00 nd ***** told me he would deliver it and pay the sales tax. I thanked him and adviswed that I was going to do some more looking and woud be back in touch with him. So, on Monday , after looking at other stores I called ***** and asked if he still had the recliner we had looked at. He said he did and I asked if they could deliver it to me that day. He said he would check and call me right back, He never called me back, I called him back and he advised that they could not deliver it that day. I asked when he could deliver it and again he said he would find out and call me right back. Again, he never returned my call.. I called him back and he siad it would be sometime within the next 3-4 days but could not give me a definte day. My son and daughter were up visiting and they said they would go and get it so I called ***** back, told him they were coming after the chair and would he make sure it was assembled. He assured me he would. So, when my kids returned with the chair, it was not assembled nd there was no instructions with the chair bout assembly or operation. I again called ***** and asked why it had not been assembled. He said he was not sure but would find out and call me back. Well, you guessed right. He never called me back. Now **** and ******* got the chair assembled for me and I called ***** back nd askd why he had not returned my call and why they sent the chair unassmbled. He said he did not put assembly on my ticket so the warehouse people were unware that it was supposed to have been assembled. I inquired abot the assembly/operation manual for the chair and ***** said he would get them for me and mail them to me. A couple of days later I had an occasion where the remote control would not work and the onboard controls on the chair did not work either and I had to wiggle out of my new chair. I called *****, told him what had happened and he advised me to try putting new batteries in the remote. I explained that that was not the issue because after I got out of the chair the remote operated the chair fine nd had continued to do so . He advised that he would send someone out to look at the chair. Exactly one week and one day later I have not seen or heard from anyone at Fergusons so I went to the store, met with ***** and of course he was all apologetic but did agree to refund my money and pick the chair up after I had voiced my concerns about him lying to me and assuring him that I had no confidence that I would get any help in the future if there were further problems with the recliner. He then recanted and said he would refund the money only after they had picked the chair up and he determine that it was resellable. I asked when he was going to pick it up and he just walked away, mumbling it would be in a few days. Does Ferguson treat ll their customers this way????
