Transaction Number: ******** I rented a moving truck from Penske on 02/03/2022 in Grenada, MS. I returned the truck on 02/05/2022 at the Minden, LA location. Before returning the truck, I put 31 gallons of diesel ($121.91) to fill the tank. Penske charged my credit card $560.00 on 02/11/2022 for 70 gallons of fuel @$8.00 per gallon. I called the Minden, LA location 02/12/22 and was routed to the national call center. I was advised to call back to Minden, on Monday during business hours. I call Minden Penske 02/14/22 and again was routed to the national center. I then was told to call the Shreveport, LA location which I did. Spoke to rep and was told he would have to talk to Minden to find out why I was charged $560.00 and he would call me back in 30 minutes. He never called. I called the national # again and rep said I needed to call back to Shreveport and talk to the district rental manager. Was told the district manager was busy but he would call me back (this call was made 02/14/22). He never called back. I called him again 02/15/22 and again was told he was busy and to call him back at 2 pm. I called back and it rang at least 20 times. No one would answer and I was unable to leave a message. Based on my research, Penske 26' truck with a full load averages 8 miles/gal. Was unable to get all the furniture I planned, so truck was only 1/6th full. The trip was 249 miles. 31 gallons X 8=248 miles. As I said, the truck should have gotten better than 8 miles/gal being such a lite load.. I feel Penske is trying to rip customers off and giving me the run around when I try to talk to someone about it.
