I was just coming off a promotional period. $1 for 6 months than $27.72 a month. I just had the first $27.72 taken out of my bank. I went to cancel my subscription and the online site offered me $.99 3months then $**** a week thereafter. What a difference from$27.72 a month to $15.96 a month! So I called Seattle Times to discuss this with an actual human. She offered me a $1.60 a month for 3 months than $ **** a month after the 3 months. I declined and here's why... I feel ripped off. If they would have offered their $**** /week, lowest price, to begin with I would still be subscribed to the digital paper. Paying $27.72 for the same digital edition for no other reason then that was the promotion I happened upon just seems unfair. Some people get a better deal, I wasn't going to be one if them. That seems like a shifty business practice. Rip off as many subscribers as you can? No thanks Seattle Times. If you ever change this practice I would possibly subscribe in the future.Customer service was able to cancel my subscription by the end of the week. I will receive 3 weeks refund of the $27.72 that was prepaid.

I have several calls to the Seattle Times to cancel a subscription and received no response. I was notified that in order to cancel I would have to pay a $19.95 cancellation fee. I cannot believe that this is possible.

We have no such cancellation fee at The Seattle Times. I looked at ********************** account and show no case notes indicating he called to cancel. If **************** would like to provide the date he called, and his phone number, I can pull the recording of the phone call and have it reviewed. We let customers know that we record all calls for quality assurance, and we can pull calls to review them if there is a dispute such as this. I have cancelled ******************** account effective immediately. If he should have any other questions or concerns, he can also email us at *************************************** and someone will be happy to assist him.

There needs to be a cancel subscription option online. Making a customer call in during your business hours to cancel a subscription is ridiculous. It's a clear attempt at making it more difficult for a customer to cancel, so you can keep charging them. It's f****** 2022 you ********, making someone call to cancel is egregious. I hope your company goes bankrupt

No home delivery for the last 8 days. **************** contact is a foreigner and does not have an answer or an understanding of what our problem is. The Ttimes editorial keeps saying the government needs to help newspapers. The Times needs to become a real business that provides a service rather than just being a platform for advertisement and asking for government help..

Seattle Times exploits senior citizens and has horrible business practices. They will send you e-mail, but will not respond if you e-mail them, I feel bad even mentioning customer service in this review because the Seattle Times has no customer service. There is no window where you can walk up and talk to someone. They drive all their inquiries to a call center where you are welcome to speak to any one of a number of surly millennials who are only interested in bilking customers.

My mother (85 years old) and deceased father have payed for this Seattle Times newspaper for 35+ years while living in King ****** and now living in ****** ******. In the last few months they have not delivered the paper to her probably 20+ times. She calls to complain and has personally talked to a manager which he said that there is no reason this should be happening as papers are delivered each day to two different ******* Stores in between my mothers address. He also gave her his direct telephone number to call if she should have anymore problems as he said he would personally take care of this problem. She left him a message probably 5 days ago and has not heard a word. In between leaving him a message and continuously calling customer service she has received only 1 paper. Again, today no paper was delivered. Prior to this last incident she fell trying to get paper that was thrown under her vehicle leaving her with a bump on forehead the size of golf ball and a very back and blue face and eyes for over three weeks. WHAT has happened to customer service with this **********************???? You would think they would want to keep loyal customers HAPPY to stay in business. The newspaper to her is her only enjoyment each and everyday. I feel she should be reimbursed a couple months due to their irresponsibility and get this delivery straightened once and for all and the paper should be delivered to her door as they dont know how to throw one for elderly to retrieve. There is no reason for this to keep going on.

I subscribed to the Seattle times for 45 years and recently canceled my subscription. I had timed the cancelation with what i thought was the last day of the previous billing cycle, paid months before. During the last few days I put a vacation hold on the paper because we were leaving town. I received a final **** of *****. Upon talking to the spokesperson for the times i learned that they do not credit your account for vacation holds. News (no pun intended) to me. I thought they always credited your account but never really checked. The ***** is no big deal but don't really understand why your paying for a service that DIDN'T DELIVER. The reason I canceled the paper to begin with was poor service and what seemed to be the same daily content. That being said. I realize the difficulties that newspapers are having staying afloat. Not really sure who would want to get up early in the morning to deliver papers. If you want to subscribe to the paper i would just plan on spotty service or to read it online if that is an option

Was a paying and willing customer for years until I wanted to cancel because I just wasn't reading it anymore. Tried several times to contact customer service but was either put on hold for an hour, was "accidentally disconnected" by their phone system, or when I could get through to someone I was given a hard pitch to renew my subscription instead of cancel it. The Seattle Times *************************** WILL NOT ACCEPT a cancellation by phone. Just received a collections notice for $60. I'm livid and will never give the Seattle Times another dime of my time or money.
