Absolutely horrible experience! I would never recommend these unprofessional people, **** and **** are a dishonest, unreliable, unethical, terrible experience. We moved from OR to **, with nothing but a runaround, a few days before the move, they couldn't find a driver ??? wow after booking for almost 3 months, they could not find a driver! They did nothing to make our trip easier, the left some things in OR, with various weights being reported from 500 to 1500 lbs....funny we got billed for 2600 lbs, I would never use these people, horrible horrible experience.Review from Michael H

We needed to move from one part of ********* to another, about 8 miles. We called Cross Town and set up with them. We were blown out of the water by their service. **** and **** were on time and were very courteous and professional. They listened to our particular needs with certain items. They suggested things we wouldn't have thought of for pictures and other items. When there weren't sufficient wardrobe boxes, the easily improvised in a way that protected our clothes. Same thing at unload: we let them do their thing. They put things exactly where we needed them. And when a sofa wouldn't fit through a doorway, they simply took the hinges off, brought the sofa in, and reinstalled the door without complaint. We would recommend these guys to anyone wanting an exceptional moving experience. And all at a great price.Review from Mark D

We hired Bekins Cross Town Movers to move us cross country. Our sales representative, told us that a crew would pack our belongings on 11/8 and the driver of the truck and his crew would load us on 11/9. At that time, the driver would tell us our estimated delivery date or would call us 1-2 days after leaving to let us know. I also wrote in the remarks section of the contract that we were moving into a HOA and they asked that the unpacking of the truck occur Monday through Friday. No weekends please. As it turned out, the crew that packed us returned the next day in the same roughly 26 moving truck and informed us that they would be taking our belongings to a secured warehouse in ******* where our belongings would then be off loaded and placed in a holding area until the actual moving truck would come and reload them. This is not at all what we were told would be happening. We had not heard from anyone as of 11/14, so I called Crosstown movers but our rep did not answer, I left a voicemail. On Tuesday 11/15, having not heard from anyone, I called our Bekins office representative. I explained that we had not heard from anyone and she then advised me that our belongings were STILL in ***** and would not be loaded onto the truck until 11/18. (Ten days our belongings sat in a warehouse in *****)! I told her this was not right, but she became very defensive with me. We were forced to buy a bed and rent furniture. On 11/28, we finally received a call from our driver informing us that our belongings would be delivered on Saturday, 12/3. I explained to him about the **** he said he would try, but could not guarantee it. He arrived on Saturday. At unloading, we had some broken furniture. He explained to me Cross Town Movers had marked every single piece of furniture we had with a W. Which stands for worn badly. Some of our furniture was brand new and very few pieces were worn at all. It took 25 days to move our belongings cross the country. Totally atrocious.Review from Richard B

Incompetent, dishonest, uncaring, unreliable, unprofessional, unbelievable.. I made a move from southern ****** to ******************* (6 hour drive) and this is my story of my horrible experience with Bekins Cross Town Movers of ******* ******. Our move required us to temporarily store our items until our new home was ready to move into.First came the packing. After getting my estimate and recovering from the shock of the price, we decided to purchase our own boxes and pack up 90% of our belongings ourselves to save some money. The smartest move we made was in packing 90% of our belongings ourselves. The dumbest move we made was in letting them pack the other 10%. Packing day arrives and 2 guys from Bekins Cross Town Movers show up. These guys couldnt pack a lunch let alone the kitchen items, artwork and big screen tvs we left for them to pack. The first thing I noticed was that these guys look like they just came in off the streets, completely unprofessional, just sloppy looking. You would think they would throw on a Bekins t-shirt or maybe arrive in a Bekins truck but no, Bekins probably wont let them. Second thing I noticed is that the boxes they are providing are all old, used U-Haul boxes. Not a single new box, not a single Bekins box. Buffoon number 1 went to work in the kitchen, just chucking stuff into these used U-Haul boxes, barely filling them, not providing any packing around anything, but then they get paid by the number of boxes they pack. Buffoon number 2 went to work on the artwork. Since they did not bring any used U-Haul picture boxes (though the estimate said they needed 10) he decided that he would engineer a box out of cut up cardboard and packing tape. What a joke. No padding, picture frames rubbing against each other, gaps and holes in his homemade boxes. When we went to pick one up it didnt even have a bottom on it and the artwork just falls out. We ended up getting NEW U-Haul picture boxes and repacking the artwork ourselves. Once buffoon number 1 got out of the bathroom (what was he doing in there for 30 minutes???) these 2 clowns started on the televisions. I will just say that had I not been there to instruct and help there is no doubt they would never have been able to pack either of the large televisions. I dont think either of them knew what they were doing. This is Bekins?Pick-up day comes and of course they are running late. Shop issues, truck issues, people issues, blah blah blah, the apologies have begun. So instead of starting in the early in the morning they begin later on and have to quit early because its just too hot (temps hit 100 during the day) and they dont think everything will fit in the truck they brought anyway. They come the next day to finish loading our items and put them into their storage facility. However, they did not bring enough inventory sheets and told us to just trust them. Bekins huh?A few days later I get a call from Bekins Cross Town Movers wanting payment for packing, loading and storage. OK, no problem. Except that Bekins Cross Town movers wants me to pay EXACTLY what is on the estimate. Ummmm, no. First off, there is no way that the estimator and the packers both ended up with the exact same number of boxes used (remember, they charge their fees based on the number of boxes packed), and I saw buffoon number 1 keeping track of how many used U-Haul boxes they were using. Didnt he pass that on to the billing department? Second, the estimate was based on Bekins Cross Town Movers packing much more than they did as we had pre-packed 90% of our belongings. They graciously agreed to cut the packing fee in half, I still paid more than I should have.Everything is in storage now and delivery is set for August 26. I am assured they will be able to make the 6 hour drive AND unload our items all on that day. Sure. Well on the morning of August 26 I get a phone call. They have overloaded the moving truck (incompetent) and have to turn around to unload items to get under the maximum weight. This is a moving company, right? Bekins, right? I find out that they have taken off ***** pounds of items, are now on their way but it will be too late for delivery on August 26, delivery will now be on August 27. As for the rest of our items, they will try to deliver them within 2 weeks (incompetent + unreliable). Exactly when? They will check with the schedulers and get back to me. Of course they dont.August 27 arrives and so does Bekins Cross Town Movers. Now we get to see what we are receiving and what we are missing. The worst part was seeing the damage that has been done to our personal belongings. Literally every piece of wooden furniture is damaged in some way, nicked, chipped or scratched, a computer desk ruined beyond repair, there is a hole punched through a rattan patio chair, a ***** kettle grill that is now bent out of round so the lid wont stay on, even had some extra parts left over that they decided werent needed when they put together the master bed. Basically they do not give a s*** about your stuff. Period. As this disaster is unfolding around me, Bekins Cross Town Movers calls me wanting payment. In full. While still holding ***** pounds worth of our stuff back in ******. Ummmm, no. They graciously agreed to pro-rate the payment based on the weight being received. How thoughtful. But when do I get the rest of our stuff? Who knows? I was told within 2 weeks. This is Bekins? This is the worst moving experience ever.September 7 arrives and I finally hear from Bekins Cross Town Movers. They will be delivering the rest of my stuff on September 9. They were quite pleased with themselves that they made it within the 2-week timeframe. September 9 arrives and at 10:23am I receive a call from Bekins Cross Town Movers and surprise, surprise they are not going to be able to deliver the rest of our belongings that day (unreliable). Some excuse about the loaders did not show up and blah, blah, blah. More excuses, more apologies. But they can deliver on September 15, and that is the worst case. But what do they mean by worst case? Might they just show up one day on my doorstep? What if Im not home? Do they think that Im just sitting around hoping, wishing and waiting for the day they decide to deliver? Sorry, but Ive got a life and Ive got plans. I need a firm date. So September 15 it is.September 15 arrives and I receive a call from Bekins Cross Town Movers. They want the rest of the payment that was pro-rated from their partial delivery in August. Ummmm no, your guys arent even here yet and given your track record I am not going to pay on faith that anyone is showing up. They agree to wait until the movers actually arrive. How generous of them. I then receive another call from Bekins Cross Town Movers. Yes, they are still coming but apparently our antique china cabinet did not make it on this trip. Some excuse about how they started loading our stuff on the wrong truck and then when unloading it the china cabinet somehow stayed on the wrong truck, blah, blah, blah, more excuses, more apologies. Im told that the china cabinet will be delivered within the week. Just how incompetent can one company be? This is Bekins? The truck finally arrives and Bekins Cross Town Movers immediately calls for payment. I realize that this is all they care about. Foolishly, I paid the balance in full. They unload the rest of our belongings, minus the china cabinet, offer even more apologies (Im sick of their lame apologies at this point) and are on their way home.September 21 arrives, it has been 6 days since I last heard from Bekins Cross Town Movers when I was assured that we would receive our antique china cabinet within the week. A week would be tomorrow. So I call to find out what time tomorrow they will be showing up. I was told that they were going to call the driver and call me right back. They never called back.September 22 arrives, it has now been 1 week since I was told I would have the rest of our stuff within the week. I call Bekins Cross Town Movers and no one answers the phone. Are they now screening their calls? I think so. I leave a message. No one ever calls me. I cant believe this is Bekins.September 23 arrives, I call Bekins Cross Town Movers, no one answers, I leave a message. I call a second number I have for Bekins Cross Town Movers, no one answers, I leave a message. I call a third number I found for Bekins Cross Town Movers and someone answers! I have to explain to him what is going on, the multiple deliveries, the missing furniture, the ignored phone calls. He says he will make some calls and call me right back. 4 hours pass and no one has called. Cleverly, I decided to have my wife call from her phone. Someone answered the phone! Now my wife can deal these fools. She hears more of these insincere apologies and is promised that they will call her back by the end of the day with a firm delivery date. I wish her well. Surprisingly, at 7:30 in the evening, Bekins Cross Town Movers calls to say they will call by noon tomorrow with a firm delivery date.September 24 arrives, noon arrives, no one has called. At 2pm and tired of waiting, my wife calls (because they no longer answer when I call) and they answer! More apologies about not calling back but we now have a firm date of October 9 for the rest of our stuff to be delivered. So much for the within the week lie. Due to the constant apologies, broken promises and general untrustworthiness of this outfit, we ask for a picture of the antique china cabinet to prove they really have it. They actually send a picture. Now we only have to wait 2 more weeks to see if they really deliver our stuff on October 9.October 7 arrives and we call Bekins Cross Town Movers to confirm our delivery in 2 days. No one answers, no one calls back, no surprise. Now they are no longer answering my wifes phone number. Well try again tomorrow. I might have to get a burner phone so they dont recognize our numbers. This is Bekins?October 8 arrives and still no word from Bekins Cross Town Movers. We call twice today, at 1:30 and 4:10. No one answers. We leave messages. No one calls back. They have either gone out of business or we are being completely ignored. No other possibility. Delivery is scheduled for tomorrow so well just stay home all day and hope.October 9 arrives, delivery day. No contact from Bekins Cross Town Movers in over 2 weeks. We call, twice, no answer, we leave messages, no return call. So we sit and wait all day for our delivery. At 6pm we realize no one is coming and that we are never going to receive the antique china cabinet. I should have never paid in full after the second partial delivery but they pressure you so hard to pay. I am done trying to contact them, whats the point anyway, they wont answer. And even if they do, its just lies to get you off of the phone. If you still decide to hire Bekins Cross Town Movers, just know that this is how they operate and that all of this can happen to you too.Cross Town Movers Inc Response

Terrible Experience. I contracted with Cross Town movers to move across the country from ******* To PA. The cost kept going up. The packers were hired pack all my kitchen, breakables, and pictures. 2 guys showed up and worked from ******. One didn't come back from lunch, one came back briefly said there was too much to do and left. I was charged for packing they did not do. We spent all weekend packing my house so it would be ready for the movers. They showed up Tuesday with a box truck which was not big enough for my home. so I got charged again for extra transportation as they had to go unload some to fit the rest in. When I finally got my stuff 2 months later, I was missing a mattress, an expensive bike and a cooler. Was told I have to pay for insurance as it wasn't collected in order to be reimbursed. A $ **** bike andI get 600. Wow. I tried to talk with the supervisor of CCM and he hung up once once and did not take calls after that. HE only emailed me. RUN- do not use these people.
