Fraudsters! Brought in my truck with new tires and a slow leak in one tire. Was told the tire had multiple "micro holes" and that all 4 tires would need replacing. Took the tire to another shop who found a s**** in the tire and did a quick, inexpensive repair. I have questioned Midas repairs in the past, but this confirms that they perform unnecessary repairs at escalated costs. Will never return to this shop.Review from Bridget D

8/21/24 Sitting in the lobby as we speak. I dropped my car off yesterday at 9am with an appointment. All I needed was new tires mounted and an alignment. I was told it would take all day long to get my car done. I could pick up at 430pm. They never called or finished my vehicle. 24hrs later I am sitting in the lobby still waiting. They have zero concept on how to effectively book appointments and or how to expadite services. I have have many vehicles in shops for tire mounting and alignments. Never experienced anything like this BS in my life. A normal experience consists of drop off and pick up same day. WTFMidas Response

Sometimes unforeseen circumstances occur with auto service. Weather those situations come up with the customers vehicle or vehicles already in the shop delays can occur. We make every effort to meet a customers timeframe and communicate when we are unable to do so. Have reached out to the customer to discuss the time frame and communication issue.Review from Adam G

Poor customer **********************. Fraudulent charges for diagnostic tests that were unnecessary. I called around and had multiple shops willing and able to do the labor for 100$ less. It appears the Old ****** highway location charges differently than other midas locations in the area. *****, the manager, was not very helpful.Review from Craig B

I took my truck in for some valve covers and head gasket replacement. I scheduled the appointment 4 weeks out, they called me to tell me that the parts where in and my Appointment time was still good. I dropped it off Saturday in the morning like instructed and then got a call a few hours later being told that they had taken it all apart but couldnt find the parts. They held it over the weekend, because they dont have enough staff to do that kind of job on a Saturday and finished it Monday. They told me that the parts had fallen behind the rack where they keep them so it took awhile to find them. I picked it up and every thing seemed okay. The next morning Im checking over everything before I head to work. I find 5 bolts missing. Im able to take it in right away and the mechanic said he only saw two missing on the intake. They scratched my wifes steering wheel up pretty good. The mechanic had on these huge golden rings and scratched it up good. Not a cover but the actual rubber on the actual steering wheel. They said it was already like that. They hire ex cons, their staff looks unprofessional and every time we go in there there is a problem. I will never take either of my vehicle to any Midas location ever again. Ide leave negative stars if I could. It makes me leave a star..On a positive note, the ladies that answer the phones and work up front are friendly and understanding for the most part.Review from E. X.

The staff is professional the the vehicle inspection is thorough. My issue is with their parts pricing. They literally get their parts from **** and then double the cost. I was told I could get the parts myself if I could get them cheaper and they would install them. When I brought the parts in (bought at NAPA at less than half the price MIDAS wanted to charge) I found out that if you want to buy the parts yourself and bring them in they'll charge you a "customer supplied parts" charge of 50% of their 100% parts markup. Blatant RIP-off. If they were to charge a 10 convenience fee for parts... I'd be ok with that. But at $150/hr for maintenance and then rip you off on the auto-parts is unacceptable. I will never bring my vehicle to MIDAS again.Midas Response

In relation to parts pricing, we source parts from many vendors both in and out of town. We use a pricing matrix to price parts, which is an industry-standard, and the pricing is not out of the normal range of competing shops in the area. Also, purchasing parts through Midas gives our customers a 12-month/ 12k mile warranty on parts and labor while purchasing parts directly from a parts vendor will only put a warranty on the parts if at all. In relation to the labor rate adjustment, many shops will not install customer-supplied parts and an increased labor rate on customer-supplied parts is an industry-standard for shops that do. This is done to help compensate for the removal of one of the two revenue streams that each bay/ technician produces as well as to compensate for the potential of receiving incorrect parts from the customer and having the bay/ technician held up while waiting for the correct parts to arrive. The customer was presented the prices before work being started and had the opportunity to not have the work completed if they were unwilling to pay the estimated price.Customer Response

The customer was presented the prices before work being started and had the opportunity to not have the work completed if they were unwilling to pay the estimated price." I was told that the Midas shop procured their parts from NAPA and was given the part numbers of what was being ordered. I was also told that if I wanted to procure them myself and bring them in I could. I procured the parts from NAPA Auto parts (with part numbers provided by Midas) at half the price Midas was charging (for the same part procure from the same source). At no point prior to me getting the parts and showing up was I told there was a surcharge for self procured parts. Had I been told up front about surcharges I would have found a different business to fix my vehicle. But, by the time I got the parts and showed up to Midas (thinking I could save money based on what the Midas representative told me) I was facing a deadline of needing my vehicle and didn't have time to find another business. I'm upset because Midas was not up-front with their pricing and will not do business with them again.Review from Paul M

In May, 2022, Midas installed new brakes and struts for $2,500. Drove 3 blocks and the brakes did not work. The mechanic explained that there was a "skid plate" problem, a part "froze" or "locked up", and a new part was required. The service manager later said that the problem was with the "caliper" and that the mechanic was required to test drive the brakes to insure they worked before releasing the car to the customer but he failed to do this required safety check. On another car, Midas wanted over $3K to fix 4 "urgent" problems and other repairs they recommended. I obtained a second opinion from an honest shop: only two repairs were needed, and they charged me $640. Midas boasts that they are the ************** of ********* for 60 Years" and urges you to "Trust the Midas Touch." Don't trust Midas and tell your friends (and everyone else!) not to do so. Their rates are outrageous and their work isn't trustworthy but incompetent.Review from Deborah S

my brakes on my 2015 silverado high country were serviced in 2019. they did not bleed the brakes properly and argued with myself and my boyfriend. we had to call management before they would look it up and realize that after changing the rotors they needed to bleed the brakes through the computer system. fast forward to may of 2022 my brakes are still squeaking, i take it to the chevrolet dealer only to find out that they installed ceramic pads on all my brakes and never changed the rotors out. today i am spending over a grand to replace everything. the ceramic pads destroyed everything. i spoke with the owner **** Lienfter who was not willing to reimburse me, and would only agree to do the pads. why would i want them to work on my vehicle again. i was never informed that the rotors were never changed out. he argued with me and stated that it is common to put ceramic pads on a vehicle. In place of changing out the rotors? BEWARE...do not get your work done at Midas in *********, ******. they are not adequately trained to work on brakes.
