    My boyfriend and I dropped our dog off on Tuesday 8/3 to be boarded here. I had terrible anxiety and just a really bad gut feeling about this place from the start. The younger lady at the front desk seemed to ease my nerves and I thought everything was going to be great, I was so sorely mistaken. On Wednesday 8/11 we picked up our dog. She REEKED like urine, as if they barely let her out to go to the restroom. On top of that the quilt that we left with her was SOAKED in urine. the owner, ***** told us, “Oh it rained a lot that’s why the blanket looks like that.” Don’t pee on me and tell me it’s raining. Clearly the blanket and our dog was covered and soaked in urine. The blanket was so ruined we had to throw it away the second we got back to our house. Our dog is the most loving, kindness dog I have ever met she will run into your arms, however the owner also said that our dog “just wanted her space and her alone time.” We asked them to play fetch with her every single day, an extra fee for each day, and they never once did it. We also, asked for them to give our dog a bath on the Tuesday before we picked her up, for an extra fee as well, and they didn’t do it because “she just wanted to be alone.” We trusted these people with our dog and we will never ever do it again. They lost our trust and broke our hearts with the way our dog was treated. If any one is looking to take their dog here run as far away as you can from them and don’t look back. Our dog is now terrified to go to places where she used to love going. When we took her to the groomer to get cleaned, after this horrid experience, she was horrified to go with anyone other than myself. She was shaking and hid in between my legs before eventually going back with the groomer. I can only imagine how terrible the experience was from my dogs point of view.

    **** began to really open up to us as she progressed in her stay with us. She started out very tense as soon as she came in the door. We noticed that she was very attached to her blanket from home and showed anxiety when we tried to take it for the laundry so we hadn't washed it. We did have rain all that week and she freely walked in and out. We strive to keep our guests as at ease as possible and she did not want to go on leash or play with us. ********** Cattle Dogs are naturally protective of and loyal to their owners, but they often are wary of strangers, especially if they were not socialized as much as they needed during the critical 6 - 16 weeks age. All we can do is read the body language of the dog and try to do our best. We also removed all charges for the services we were not able to complete. I wish **** and her family the very best.
