I have assigned this contractor to built my deck back in October 2021. The work was started in December first week after chasing for couple month. Only work that was performed was digging holes which was also rejected by the city inspector after multiple tries the contractor failed to satisfy the inspector. He diged holes and dropped cement on site but he didn't do proper holes and all the cement he left it open and never come back to take a look at it.Took 17000$ in 2 installments in the name of getting permits and to order material. But neither ever happened. I was told i will be provided with a receipt once material is ordered but i never received one. Now after 6 months he emailed me and said he is backing off from the project and terminating the contract ,in the email he attached the document and final quote but the the file is not available to review. He met me last week twice and communicated that he will start the project by first week of ***** ,his potential start date was ***** 5th.But he sends the notice on ***** 1 and label it as 10 days notice ,which i not true.I am here asking for help ,he used my money for 6 months and i have entire chain of emails where i always kept chasing him to communicate and provide details but he always failed. I need my money back and the compensation of all of my time he wasted and also he misused my money and never completed his scope of work.
