On September 9, 2019, BBB received a report in Scam Tracker from a consumer stating they responded to a job ad on Indeed for a Data Entry Clerk work from home position for a company named Mindshare Medical in Seattle, Washington. The consumer was sent a check to cash to purchase gift cards. After the consumer purchased the gift cards and the money was taken from the gift cards by the employer, the consumer was informed the check bounced and the consumer was liable to pay the bank back for the amount of the check and fees.
Based upon this report, BBB believes Mindshare Medical is being used in an employment and check cashing scheme. BBB has reached out to Mindshare Medical for comment. To date, BBB has not received a response.
