SaalfieldPublishing.com came to the attention of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) following a consumer complaint. The consumer sought assistance with republishing a book after her previous publishing company went out of business. She was quoted a price and billed automatically, with the receipt issued by a different business name, AMHIH Solutions.

The business then pressured the consumer to purchase 200 copies of her book for distribution to two retail bookstores. Her credit card was charged again. A third solicitation followed, offering her an opportunity to promote her book on television for an additional $2,500–$3,000, depending on the channel. After declining, she was promised 50 copies in September and another 50 in October—none of which were delivered.

On October 9, 2025, the consumer received ten “proof” copies, but they were produced by another publishing house. She described the copies as “disastrous,” missing content, and containing no publisher information. These were rejected. The business later promised to send a manuscript, but all communication stopped thereafter.

SaalfieldPublishing.com appears to be a fraudulent self-publishing and book-marketing operation misusing the historic name Saalfield Publishing—a legitimate publishing company that closed in 1977. This website has no affiliation with the original publisher.

Further investigation revealed:

The business uses a generic VOIP-style phone number, a common sign of scam operations.
The website provides no verifiable physical address. The address previously listed was fake and located in the same office building as the BBB.
The company uses predatory publishing schemes, pressuring authors with vague promises of “premier” or “global” publishing services.
The Live Chat Support script matches those used by known fraudulent publishing firms.
These types of fraudulent sites commonly push fake movie deals, bogus bookstore placements, overpriced marketing packages, and low-quality ghostwriting.

Consumers - especially independent authors - should not share personal information or make payments to this website.
