Ratings range from A+ to F, based on factors like customer complaints, transparency, and responsiveness. Customer reviews do not impact the BBB rating. BBB also seeks and uses information directly from businesses and public data sources. Please find more information about our rating system.

BBB ratings reflect how a business is likely to interact with customers. Ratings update automatically as new information is received. In some cases, a business's grade may be lowered if the BBB does not have sufficient information about the business despite requests for the information.

Alert

In December 2023, BBB Serving New Mexico and Southwest Colorado investigated Hartman Weber Mediations business practices. This investigation was prompted by Scam Tracker reports, and consumer inquiries.

Consumers have alleged the following through a BBB complaint and Scam Tracker reports:
- Notice the misspelled City in the letterhead. When I click on the PDF is shows the letterhead as a picture.
- The scamer was rude, when we asked for more information befor we paid, they siad the only way to get the information was for my wife and I to hire an attorney or just settle with them now. We called our bank that supposedly we had a debt with and they said we were good to notify you.
- I have been contacted by Hartman Weber Mediations on 12/20 and 12/26 and was advised by them that I owe Fifth Third Bank $894.62 which I did pay Fifth Third Bank over 5 years ago to a different agency as the payments were debited from my bank account. I told Hartman Weber that I had already paid this debt to another agency and according to reps st the bank my account is closed and I don't owe any money. I had also called the individual branch of 5th Third and was told by a manager there that I don't owe any money and my account has been closed almost 13 years ago. Hartman Weber also sent me a phony settlement letter which is not the same number listed in the letter that they call me from. Hartman said they've sent letters to an address that I haven't lived at in over 3 years but can't provide the previous letters. They are also threatened to stop my direct deposit of my Social Security check and any debit transactions because the bank is federally financed. I advised Hartman that only a government official can do that as I would be notified by the Dept of Treasury if I owed like student loans, IRS etc. which is not my situation with the federal government. If anything I would still get direct deposit if I did owe anything as Social Security doesn't send out checks which Hartman said I would get a check. After doing further research it doesn't appear that the address is an office building but where people actually live. Also, if they were an legit business their email could be monitored but you can't send an email to Hartman because its not monitored. Overall I think they are targeting senior citizens with a "scare" tactic to get them to pay money and/or give account info. When I didn't give them any of my info, the guy whose name is Mr Crow told me to get an attorney. Also, whenever you call there is always several different receptionist answering the phone and Mr Crow is very rude and doesn't listen to anything I had to say except he want me to make a payment.
