State of New Hampshire v. Zachery Tarr and Granite Consulting, LLC
The following describes a government action that has been resolved by either a settlement or a decision by a court or administrative agency. If the matter is being appealed, it will be noted below.
On 8/09/2024 the Strafford County Superior Court entered a final judgment against Zachery Tarr and Granite Consulting, LLC, finding that they violated New Hampshire's Consumer Protection Act by engaging in unfair and deceptive business practices. The State's civil complaint, investigated and prosecuted by members of the Office of the Attorney General's Consumer Protection and Antitrust Bureau, alleged that Tarr and Granite Consulting "misrepresented their services as 'definite' and 'guaranteed' when they were not, continued to advertise services and accept payment after they had no intention of providing services as advertised, and intentionally failed to pay money-back guarantees that they made..." The judgment order Tarr and Granite Consulting to pay $73,515.47 taken from victims by the defendants, as well as $22,000 in statutory penalties and $27,742.50 to cover the costs of investigating and prosecuting the case.
