Government Actions
State of Michigan vs infinite Auto Protection, et al
The following describes a government action that has been resolved by either a settlement or a decision by a court or administrative agency. If the matter is being appealed, it will be noted below.
On August 14, 2025, the Michigan Attorney General was granted a default judgement against Opulent Marketing, Inc d/b/a Infinite Auto Protection, Isaac Saada, Adam Hakim, Albert Hakim, and U.S. Auto Management, LLC, a Delaware company. The Order granting default judgement, issued in 30th Circuit Court in Ingham County, settles allegations that the parties violated the Michigan Consumer Protection Act.
Beginning in 2018, the parties marketed and sold vehicle service contracts, also known as extended auto warranties. Their website allegedly misrepresented the benefits of these agreements by claiming they were “100% Risk Free,” included a “30-day money back guarantee,” and offered a “Fast 24/7 Claims Process.”
In practice, IAP failed to honor these promises by denying or ignoring valid claims and eventually ceasing to pay claims altogether. The company also misled customers into believing the contracts were issued by a Michigan-based business. In reality, IAP merely rented office space in Romulus, MI, and listed that address on its website, despite having no employees, records, or equipment at the location.
The Attorney General further alleged that the company’s owners purchased Opulent Marketing, Inc. as a “shelf company”- an entity created and left dormant to age idly until sold- so it would appear to consumers that the business had been operating for nearly a decade, when in fact it was newly established.
Under the terms of the judgement, Opulent Marketing, Inc. and Adam Hakim must pay $150,000 in civil fines and are permanently banned from doing business in Michigan. U.S. Auto Management LLC must pay $280,547 and Albert Hakim $71,547 in disgorged funds. At her discretion, the Attorney General may make distributions of these funds to reimburse affected consumers.
For additional details, see the Attorney General's press release.
