On November 21, 2023, Better Business Bureau investigated Newage Aloha Properties’ business practices. This investigation was prompted by Better Business Bureau scam tracker reports regarding Newage Aloha Properties’ vacation rental practices. Consumers claim to connect with Newage Aloha Properties through Craigslist ads for Maui vacation rentals. Consumers establish interest in a rental and attempt to pay the first installment using a credit card payment does not go through Newage Aloha Properties, which responds with an invoice via email requesting payment using CashApp. Once the transaction takes place, all communication stops.
BBB has verified that Newage Aloha Properties has been going under several different names and consumers experience the same results. Names used are Dlarson Vacation Homes, Perfect Vacation Bliss, and Vacation-Hawaii-Inc.
BBB verified that the location address used by Newage Aloha Properties, 255 Keawe Street Hilo Hawaii 96720 is currently a vacant location. This address is also listed for Dlason Vacation Homes.
BBB verified that the domain registration for https://www.newagealohaproperties.com/ was registered by Namecheap on July 21, 2022 and is listed as privacy-protected.
BBB was unable to verify the necessary permits required for short-term vacation rentals at https://www.mauicounty.gov/ for either Newage Aloha Properties or Dlason Vacation Homes.
