How does the Better Business Bureau rating system work?

Ratings range from A+ to F, based on factors like customer complaints, transparency, and responsiveness. Customer reviews do not impact the BBB rating. BBB also seeks and uses information directly from businesses and public data sources. Please find more information about our rating system.

BBB ratings reflect how a business is likely to interact with customers. Ratings update automatically as new information is received. In some cases, a business's grade may be lowered if the BBB does not have sufficient information about the business despite requests for the information.

Important Information

Government Actions

Government Action: BBB reports on known government actions involving business’ marketplace conduct:
Stipulation and Final Agency Order PersonalTConsulting LLP d/b/a Personal Tradelines (“Personal”), and the Administrator (“Administrator”) of the Colorado Credit Services Organization Act (“CSOA”)

The following describes a government action that has been resolved by either a settlement or a decision by a court or administrative agency. If the matter is being appealed, it will be noted below.

On December 4, 2025, the Administrator of the Colorado Credit Services Organization Act though the State of Colorado Department of Law entered into a Stipulation and Final Agency Order with PersonalTConsulting LLP d/b/a Personal Tradelines. The Order resolves allegations that the business charged consumers in advance of performing services, failed to provide required written disclosures, and did not give consumers a full and detailed description of the services offered, in violation of Colorado law governing credit services organizations.

The settlement alleges that Personal Tradelines marketed services claiming to improve consumers’ credit scores by adding them as “authorized users” on credit card accounts belonging to people with stronger credit, a practice known as piggybacking. Personal Tradelines also allegedly charged consumers in advance, made unsubstantiated or misleading representations about the benefits of purchasing tradelines—revolving credit lines found on a consumer’s credit report—and failed to provide disclosures required under state law.

Personal Tradelines also advertised that buying tradelines was “one of the best methods for potentially improving your credit score” and claimed consumers could “share the credit history” of another person’s account even though those consumers were expressly prohibited from using those accounts or interacting with the account owners or creditors.

Under the terms of the Order, Personal Tradelines agreed to cease the cited practices, comply with all requirements of the Colorado Credit Services Organization Act, discontinue offering its services to Colorado consumers, and pay $20,000 in administrative penalties. The Order was for settlement purposes only and should not be considered an admission of wrongdoing.
