On August 22, 2023, ConsumerInfo.Com Inc, Dba Experian Consumer Services entered into a Stipulated Order for Permanent Injunction with the Federal Trade Commission. The Order settles allegations that the business failed to provide an Opt-Out Mechanism and failed to provide notice of the opt-out option. Under terms of the Order, the business agreed to pay a $650,000 civil penalty, and enjoins the business from sending commercial emails that do not provide a notice that the recipient may opt-out of receiving such emails in the future or any opt-out mechanism.
