In March 2021, BBB conducted an investigation on Dome Hill Developments Inc, following a victim's communication with BBB raising suspicion of the business during the process of hire for an employment opportunity.

The consumer was offered an employment opportunity with Dome Hill Developments Inc for the position of Asset Manager. The employment job description and probationary term contract provided outlined the following details:

-  Asset manager is to invest income received from the sales of mobile applications by converting monies into cryptocurrency. 

- Asset manager is to monitor cryptocurrency market (weekly) creating daily/monthly reports.

-  Qualifications: Associates degree in finance or related field (bachelor degree preferred)

9-5pm remote working hours. Full time position wage $950 weekly, part time position $450 weekly. 5% commission on each completed sales payment. Probationary period duration is 10 working days.

Once the victim was selected for the interview process and had electronically signed a probation agreement, the next step as indicated by the company HR manager, Mr. Martin, was to agree via Telegram chat to the following 2 requirements.

1) To commence probationary term, employee is to verify their identity by sending the HR Manager a selfie, accompanied by a legal photo ID and the signed employment contract.

2) Employee was to conduct 1 test transaction during their probationary term. The test is to be carried out by using the employees personal banking account to receive a payment from a company client, cash out payment, and invest the dollar amount to BTC Cryptocurrency using a BITCOIN ATM. Step by step instructions to be provided in order to carry out the transaction successfully.

These 2 requirements are ultimately what caused the victim's suspicion in the company.

Following the receipt of these details from the victim, BBB initiated an internal investigation to gather further details on the company. During the process, BBB uncovered several details that led to the belief that Dome Hill Developments Inc is an employment scam.

BBB performed a search on WHOIS for domain registry information on the two identical websites https://domehilldevelopments.com/ and https://domehilldevelopments.ca/. The results revealed that the domain ending in .com was created 2020-11-27 and the domain ending in .ca was created 2021-02-16

In cross referencing the images and text of the website, BBB uncovered a legitimate business in Australia operating since 2016. The website of the Australian based business has a theme, layout and written content identical to that of Dome Hill Developments Inc. We believe that the creators of the Dome Hill Developments Inc website has plagiarized a legitimate businesses content without consent.

BBB attempted to reach out to Dome Hill Developments Inc to discuss concerns of its operations. We were unable to reach the business via phone at( 613) 703-8792, as the call led to a dead tone and disconnected. BBB had sent an e-mail to the business, which went unanswered.

BBB contacted the property management office responsible for lease of office space for 2164 Montreal Rd as listed on the website. Richcraft Properties indicated that the location only contains 4 units, and Dome Hill Developments is neither a current or past occupant of any of the units at the aforementioned address. One of the plaza units is occupied by a shared space business, which will remain unnamed for privacy purposes. This business offers office space to its active members. BBB contact the owner of the shared space business, who confirmed that Dome Hill Developments Inc is not a member of the business and thus does not have access to the facility. The owner also detailed that he receives multiple inquiries daily from the general public requesting to know if Dome Hill Developments Inc conducts its business there.

BBB performed a search on the Government of Canada's Federal Incorporation website. 1 Active result was produced for Dome Hill Developments Inc. The details of this result indicated that the business was incorporated 1982-12-31. The registered office of the business was listed for an Ottawa address as well as the details of the active director. The address listed on the incorporation profile, was a different address than that listed as the operating location on the website 2164 Montreal Rd, Ottawa.

BBB was able to contact the active director on the incorporation, who confirmed that he does not operate the websites in question and does not operate in the field of digital solutions. He strongly agrees that the creators of the websites and the individuals behind this operation are hiding behind his legitimate incorporated business in order to appear credible.

For the above mentioned points, BBB cannot confirm the legitimacy of www.domehilldevelopments.com and determine its location of origin.

We strongly urge the use of caution when considering/accepting virtual employment opportunities. We recommend doing research prior to providing any personal information to a second party.  Never agree to using a personal banking account to conduct a "test" transaction concluding in the conversion of monies into cryptocurrency.
