The Better Business Bureau® (BBB®) St. Louis is warning consumers to exercise caution when considering business with Greenhaw Buildings LLC, a building contractor based in Billings, Missouri. Complaints and negative reviews reported to BBB indicate the company accepted upfront payments for projects that were not completed, failed to issue refunds, and provided poor communication and customer service.
Key concerns
- F Rating: Greenhaw Buildings LLC currently holds an “F” rating, the lowest on BBB’s scale, due to recent unanswered complaints. The business also has received negative customer reviews.
- Unfulfilled contracts: Consumers report paying thousands of dollars for work that was either never started or completed.
- Poor communication: Attempts to reach the company for updates or refunds have largely been unsuccessful, according to consumers.
Consumer stories told to BBB
Fair Grove, MO: A homeowner told BBB he paid over $70,000 in quarterly installments for garage and home expansion. He stated that shortly after the third payment, the owner, Kevin Greenhaw, announced plans to file for bankruptcy. No work was completed, and the consumer has been unable to recover funds.
Springfield, MO: Another customer reported that she paid $17,000 in October 2024 for a garage project scheduled for 2025. The woman told BBB, “We never heard from him again,” despite repeated attempts to contact the company.
Ozark, MO: A third consumer stated that he hired Greenhaw Buildings LLC for a shop house. He described the work as “very shoddy,” citing uneven framing and a crooked metal door that barely latches. He told BBB that he ultimately had to redo much of the work himself.
Business background
According to Missouri Secretary of State records, Greenhaw Buildings LLC was registered in March 2016, with Kevin Greenhaw listed as the organizer. A BBB investigator attempted to contact Greenhaw via email and phone without success. A letter BBB sent to the business requesting a response to its pattern of consumer complaints also went unanswered.
