The Better Business Bureau of Western PA is pleased to announce Nick Genco as the recipient of this year's BBB Ethical Leadership Scholarship. Nick Genco began his educational journey at Duquesne University in Fall 2023, with a major in management, as well as a finance minor, a legal studies minor and a pre-law certificate.
Each year, BBB awards a $1,000 scholarship to a business management student at Duquesne University who embodies the values of emerging ethical leadership through academic and professional excellence and community engagement.
According to Warren King, president of the Better Business Bureau of Western PA, “Over the past fifteen years, we have observed several consistent qualities in the recipients of this award. Nick's accomplishments clearly align with the themes of community engagement through his volunteer work in providing free tax assistance to low-income individuals and seniors, philanthropic dedication with Pi Sigma Epsilon, academic excellence by maintaining a 4.0 GPA while pursuing an accelerated graduation, and dedication to enhancing campus life through involvement with Pi Sigma Epsilon and other initiatives at Duquesne University."

This past year I have been passionately trying to step up how I give back to my community while also advancing my academic studies," says Nick Genco. "This scholarship greatly helps me in my pursuit of my educational degrees, which will help me in the pursuit of my future goals."
BBB Ethical Leadership scholarship recipients are selected by the Torch Awards for Ethics panel of judges through an essay-based application process. BBB provides this scholarship in honor of our Torch Award judges and the time and commitment they invest in volunteering to assist in the Torch Awards for Ethics entry judging process.
