Decarney Roofing is a local business out of Beverly, MA that services the North Shore with a commitment to excellent customer service. Third-generation roofer Mario DeCarney began his entrepreneurial journey in 2017 after working for years with his father.
“I started roofing because my father owned a roofing company, and my grandfather also owned a roofing company. I started working with my dad pretty much every day after school and then eventually started my own company,” recalled Mario when asked how he got into the roofing business.
DeCarney Roofing services the North Shore but mainly works on projects within 10 miles of Beverly, as the business has grown significantly since it opened. “When we first started, we'd service wherever we could take jobs, which would entail driving sometimes 45 minutes to an hour away. Whereas now we're pretty fortunate where we're working only within a five-to-10-mile radius of our office.” DeCarney also shared that his company primarily works on residential jobs with a small percentage of commercial projects.
One of the biggest milestones of DeCarney’s journey has been opening an office in Beverly, a strategic move that has increased their visibility. “We just opened up our office location last year, right in the middle of an extremely busy intersection the heart of Beverly. We get tons of work just from having our office location and homeowners seeing our office.
Unsurprisingly, excellent customer service and communication are key parts of DeCarney's business strategy. "We like providing good service. We do our best to really understand what the customer is looking for and make sure we give them what they want—all while keeping them happy through the whole process. We really emphasize communication and transparency with our home owners," DeCarney explained.
In addition to his business, Mario invests in his local community, participating in several initiatives. “We proudly sponsor Beverly’s little league baseball team. We're also part of the Beverly Chamber of Commerce and make donations here and there. Beverly will be hanging banners from light posts with artwork by local artists, which we’re sponsoring. So, any little opportunity that arises like that, we try to do our best to help out.”
Originally from Danvers, a town over from Beverly, Mario has spent his life in the area and enjoys being a Beverly resident. "I love the sense of community here. That's probably my favorite part about living in Beverly, and there are always things going on here and fun stuff to do. It’s a great city. Everyone's super nice," the business owner shared.
