Accounting is the art and science of recording business transactions in accordance with the principles of accounting for the purpose of ascertaining an accurate picture of the profits or losses and the financial position of a business.

At this Workshop, we will cover how to avoid many of the pitfalls small business owners face in their early years. We will discuss how to set up an accounting system that allows you to better manage cash flow, avoid costly fines and penalties, and make better management decisions. We will also cover best practices for reducing your year-end tax liability.

Our Facilitator for this Workshop is Annette Brown. Annette is a CPA, and the owner and founder of ABC Accounting Services. Annette received her BS in Accounting from Northern Illinois University, and her CPA Certification from the University of Illinois.

She began her career in the corporate sector and started ABC Accounting 10 years ago. Her mission has been to take the fear out of the financials for the business owner through her business advisory, bookkeeping and tax preparation services. Annette also serves on the boards of several Nonprofit organizations including the Huntley Brown Foundation, Caribbean American Family Network, and the Rodney Sisco Symposium for Leadership and Diversity
