  Dan was recommended to us by the manager at the doggy daycare that our Piper attends a few days a week. Piper has a lot of anxiety, and it is hard to take her in public (or dog walks sometimes!). She is also afraid of boys and older men. This came on in adolescence; before that Piper loved everybody! As first time dog owners, we were at a loss. We had taken Piper to classes and had a dog trainer in the past that helped, but her anxiety was still causing a lot of stress in our household. We have had 6 sessions with Dan, and I doubt we are done yet! However, Piper has improved immensely, and Dan taught us ways to keep working with her in public situations as well as working on other things that scare her. Dan has an incredible amount of knowledge about dogs, and I doubt he has ever come across a dog he didn't adore. He has stories that help explain what Piper is going through, as well as resources and videos he shares (some written by him!). Dan is also extremely calm and low key, and Piper loved him right away. In fact, she seemed to know when he was coming for a visit, because she would sit near the door about 10 minutes before he would arrive!! My family highly recommends Happy Buddha Dog Training!

  We just spent 5 amazing sessions with Happy Buddha Dog Training (i.e. Dan *******) to train our 4 month old puppy, "Spoon." Dan came to our house and sat in a large circle in our living room with my husband, my 2 daughters and me. We were "wowed" from the very beginning, which is ironic because Dan's demeanor is incredibly low-key. Despite his soft-spoken manner, he explains and demonstrates concepts thoroughly and clearly. Whatever he taught, Spoon learned quickly, and we did too. After the first visit, Spoon could "touch" our hand and sit. Within a few visits he could lay down, sit again, come, stay, leave things alone, drop a toy, and more. Dan also gave excellent guidance on many topics such as puppy socialization, play, etc., sending articles and videos for our reference. He was incredibly generous with his time, coming early and staying late, and sending us thorough written summaries after each session. It's January now and our puppy doesn't like to go outside, but we're looking forward to our next group of sessions with Dan in the spring
