The following describes a government action that has been resolved by either a settlement or a decision by a court or administrative agency. If the matter is being appealed, it will be noted below.
On February 15, 2024 the Virginia Board of Medicine suspended Gregory A. Alouf's license to practice Medicine. On April 3, 2024 The Virginia Board of Medicine issued a Consent Order reprimanding Dr. Gregory A. Alouf, MD and reinstated Dr. Alouf's license subject to the following terms & conditions; For not less than 3 years from the date of this Order, Dr. Alouf shall not perform or assist in the performance of any surgical procedure nor shall he supervise any individual in the performance of surgery.
The order shall not restrict Dr. Alouf from performing the following: non-surgical cosmetic procedures such as laser hair removal or Botox filler injections. Procedures incidental to the practice of family medicine, such as stitches. He is not restricted in practice in an Accredited residency or fellowship program.
After 3 years, if Dr. Alouf seeks termination of the restrictions in this Order, an administrative proceeding shall be convened to consider such petition. The burden will be on Dr. Alouf to demonstrate that he is safe and competent to return to the performance of surgery. For additional information go to: www.dhp.virginia.gov.
