On ******* ********* my vehicle was unlawfully towed. I parked in an unmarked dirt lot (**** *********** **** ******** **) around 9am. There was no signage present in the lot, along with many other vehicles parked around me already present. Upon returning to the lot at around 4:30pm, my truck was gone and there was a towing company sign at the entrance to the lot. This is against the law. Signs must be present and in clear view of both entrances and exits of the lot. I disputed this with the company and they even called the owner of the lot and let me speak with him. The owner informed me that there indeed was a sign at the lot, but it had been moved out of view and laid over on its side. The owner admitted to placing the sign back up into view around 12pm that day, and then called the tow company. This is an illegal practice as the sign was not present, or in sight, at the time of my parking there. The towing company, even after hearing the owner's admission to moving the sign AFTER I had parked, refused to release my vehicle without payment. The woman at Chancey's who I spoke with was incredibly rude and unprofessional. After accusing me of vandalizing the sign at the lot she cursed at me and told me to leave. This towing company is engaging in predatory towing practices and this instance is clearly illegal. Even after the lot owner acknowledged the illegal move of placing the sign later in the day, they refused to reimburse me. I have multiple eye witnesses who can attest that there were no signs present at the lot that morning when I parked there. The photo attached shows the sign is simply in a blue bucket which is not permanently fixed and clearly was moved there that very same day.

I left clearance instructions and I was told to lock my car as I was taken to the hospital . My daughter was home and yet they towed my car. They refused to do so . Plus my car was drivable and I requested it be taken to my house. They sent me papers that was not explained to me my rights. They are trying to make money off those who have the least
