I contacted One Source Process (OSP) to ask if they could apostille and translate a Social Security benefits verification letter for a Colombia visa application. I was assured that they could do this work and given instructions for how to proceed. Part of these instructions were that I needed to have the letter signed and that I could do that one of three ways; I chose the third way because it did not require my presence. I gave OSP the documents they needed, and they did the work quickly. Unfortunately, the documents were not accepted by the Colombian government. I contacted OSP immediately, and they said that 1) they knew how to do this work and 2) that I had not given them clear instructions. When I told them the benefits letter needed to be signed, they told me how to sign and get it notarized and said they would do the work again for an additional cost. Again, they did the work quickly. Again, the documents were rejected by the Colombian government. It turns out that the letter needs to be signed by an authority and not by me. Although OSP stated on several occasions that they knew what I needed to apply for a Colombian visa, they clearly did not know this, so misrepresented their knowledge. I contacted them again with a copy of the message from the Colombian government, and I was told that 1) I had not been clear about what I wanted and 2) that it was my responsibility to tell them what I needed. The next day they told me they knew how to do the work and that I should essentially explain to the Colombia government why they should accept my documents. I understand that this visa application process is very fuzzy, and I have been unable to find clear information about what documents were needed until after the fact. However, this is why I wanted to work with knowledgeable, experienced people. I have paid the following amounts and have received nothing I can use for my visa application.
