We are planning a trip and went on to Rail Europe to order train tickets. I paid for ***********. Then I received an email from Rail Europe that the charge did not go through and sent me a link to order again. I did so and the price was more than when I ordered previously. Looking back into my bank account I now see they did indeed receive their payment. I tried the help rail europe, contact us, refund form links, the 800 number as well as the international number. All attempts fail. Only the help rail Europe sends a response stating that it looks like you have tried to contact us followed by a list of reasons it probably failed. But still no information that gives you a way to contact them to get a refund for the second round of tickets. I wish that I had read these reviews before ordering the tickets. I am giving a star - however if there was a zero, I would assign that. *********************Review from Kristin P

I purchased 3 Eurail passes for our family. First I lost a print out of our seat reservations for two legs of our journey and they were not on the app. ****** said they could not help. On two other legs of our journey we were fined $215 and $630 but train operators because the app wouldn't generate a ticket beyond the seats we reserved. This pass ended up costing up twice as much as if we'd bought the tickets directly with the trains and they said they will not refund any of the money even though SNCF said they would because the app wasn't working properly.Rail Europe, Inc. Rail Europe is a complete scam. My husband and I purchased multiple tickets from this site only to find that they were not valid. Please be aware and DO NOT USE RAIL EUROPE!Rail Europe, Inc. Response

I'm sorry to hear of the issues the traveler experienced when attempting to use the rail tickets in Europe. Rail Europe is a legitimate company with contracts with the European railways. The tickets issued were valid for travel. We received notice that the tickets were not accepted on May 30. We replied to the customer the same day requesting supporting documentation. We have escalated the issue to the rail carrier to investigate why the tickets were not accepted by the train conductor, and requesting a full refund. Upon completion of the investigation, appropriate action will be taken; and any refund due will be processed. Please allow us some time to resolve this issue. Thank you.Review from Mel S

We had to cancel our reservations for about six journeys and they would not refund even one of them. I kept asking for them to please proceed to refund and by the third request they blocked me and my message would not go through. I am very disappointed and would not recommend them or use them in the future.Rail Europe, Inc. Response

I'm sorry to hear of the issue the customer is having regarding their refund. I see that of the five train tickets purchased (x two travelers), one set of the tickets are non-refundable per the fare conditions and two sets of tickets have been refunded per the fare conditions on May 11. I also see that the remaining two tickets were not refunded per the fare conditions. I have reopened and escalated the case for further investigation; and the needed action will be taken. I have used RailEurope about ten times over the past 50 years. Service then was tolerable.The RailEurope ************* Pass that I used recently in ******* was incredibly bad, bad, bad, bad. I will never use RailEurope again.PS. If RailEurope wants to litigate this matter, I am ready to give more details therein.Review from Yining T

Do not use this website. I wish I had looked up their reviews before following travel blogger's recommendation. I cancelled outbound part of my return/roundtrip tickets and still kept the return part of the tickets. First, they didn't send me cancelation confirmation. Second, they mistakenly canceled my return tickets as well. I didn't know that until I checked in at the train station and the train operator told me my travel agent canceled the whole ticket. What a terrible mistake. I ended up having to buy tickets the last minute which cost me 2x the price and causing my travel delay. Not to mention the stress and hassle my family and I all had to go through in a foreign country. I have been contacting them for 2 weeks asking for refund for the return tickets. Nobody has answered my emails. Nobody. Even though their customer service standard is 24 hour response time. Stay away!Review from Thin D

DO NOT USE THIS SCAM SERVICE. Contracted covid while abroad and had to cancel my train ticket with Rail Europe. This was a $500 train ride in *********** and they REFUSED to refund me. I shared all of my covid results and a proof of contraction from a pharmacy. They still wouldn't give me my money back for a trip I could not take due to COVID!! Insanely terrible business practices. Absolute crooks. $500 in Rail Europe gift cards added to our online app for travel. The app would not allow the credit to transfer to purchases. They haven't answered their phone since the pandemic. They answer emails but then state your response was not received. Been trying for 15 months to get our $500 back
